Chevrolet C10R Race Truck: One Badass High-Performance Truck
When you spend your life racing Camaros, choosing to drive a truck designed for race duty seems like a silly proposition. But when you’ve given up racing for three years to start a family, you need to come back to the sport making a statement. That’s what Brandy Phillips of PCHRODS decided to do, with this awesome C10R race truck.
The design of the truck was to be inspired by Pagani, and has a matte-black wrap, carbon fiber bits (including the rear wing) and wheels similar to what they offer.
The truck makes 575 horsepower and sent to the rear-wheels through a manual transmission. Everything non-essential was removed from the truck, and it was significantly lowered to improve aerodynamics.
The truck has also been in a computer-simulated wind tunnel. That means that the front splitter, and big rear wing, actually are functional pieces that improve downforce and high-speed stability.
Ride quality and noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) also suffers, but it’s a race truck, so that’s to be expected.
The overall goal was to make it better handling than the Camaro that Brandy used to race. That’s a tall order considering how much a truck is NOT designed to be a racing vehicle. But it seems they have succeeded in their goal.
