New XPEL DIY Self-Healing Paint Protection: Does Your Car Have A Clear Bra?

Not long ago, the process of protecting the paint on your car with clear urethane was reserved for the specialized shops that knew the dark art of installing a “clear bra.” But time and technology marches on and XPEL, along with other companies now sell DIY kits to protect your prized muscle car.

The new stuff from XPEL caught my eye because it’s touted as a completely clear, non-yellowing urethane that is said to protect against rock chips, scrapes, burnt rubber and is said to “heal,” over time thanks to its fancy clear coat and special elastomeric polymers. It’s backed by a 10-year warranty and can be installed in your drive-way with pre-cut or free-form sections. If doing it yourself just isn’t your thing, it can also be professionally installed by a worldwide network of certified installers.

Anyone installed or had clear bra installed on your vehicles? If so, share your thoughts in here!
