That… Is a Toyota Hiace van. From the factory, it came with an abysmal four cylinder engine and was best suited for moving a lot of people very, very slowly. Despite such humble beginnings, the Hiace has found its way into the heart of (a few) auto enthusiasts everywhere. Mainly in Japan.
But this one somehow made it Australia. And honestly, if there’s any country that could possibly be more crazy about horsepower than us, it’s the Aussies.
I’d say a turbocharged LT1 is a marked improvement over the original. Wouldn’t you?
