At the Dragstrip, Tesla Model S vs 2014 Corvette Stingray

These are the kind of insane matchups I like to see.

We know Elon Musk’s halo child is a performance marvel in itself (despite the ultra hefty 4,600 lb curb weight), and the 2014 Corvette Stingray is, undisputably, the best Corvette we’ve seen in Chevy’s history.

Today’s match-up pits the 85kW Model S Performance version (good for 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds) against the Stingray in Z51 performance package and 6-speed automatic transmission. The video shows two passes from different angles. Honestly? Watching the Model S on dragstrip runs is just an insane experience in itself. No transmission hitching or windup, the S just propels itself forward like a spaceship.

Best part of the video though? Easily, listening to the Stingray’s LS engine drop the hammer down at full speed.
