LS-Swapped Yamaha Jet Ski Is Pure Insanity on the Water

LS-Swapped Yamaha Jet Ski

It may not necessarily be faster than a stock PWC, but this LS-swapped Yamaha jet ski is way cooler.

As anyone who’s ever ridden one already knows, jet skis are generally pretty darn quick, particularly for something that rides across water. Modern jet skis are currently pushing the limits of what’s safe and reasonable, in fact, packing more and more power with each passing model year. However, that still wasn’t enough for the Jetski Brothers of Washington, who decided to build this truly insane LS-swapped Yamaha jet ski, which looks pretty terrifying to ride but also sounds simply incredible.

This LS-swapped Yamaha jet ski – a WaveRunner FZR – was originally powered by a 250 horsepower supercharged marine engine, which is obviously pretty darn stout as is. That particular powerplant weighs around 260 pounds, which is legitimately light, though that didn’t stop the Jetski bros from seeking out a bit more power, as well as a bit more weight for their new project.

The duo sourced a 6.0-liter V8 for this wild project after trying out a few different combinations, though they don’t know exactly how much power it’s pumping out. Best guesses come in at around 300 horsepower, which is a bit more than the stock motor, though it’s also heavier, which may negate the added performance. Regardless, the brothers built this thing to have fun on the water, not win drag races.

From the looks of things, that’s precisely what this LS-powered jet ski does well – install a permanent grin on the faces of anyone that rides it. Truthfully, even if it is slower than a stock one, we’d rather have this V8-powered WaveRunner any day of the week. This thing sounds absolutely bonkers ripping around the water – way better than any personal watercraft has the right to.

Like the golden days of hot rodding, this jet ski-loving duo is just out to have some fun on the weekends, and they’ve truly built something that accomplishes that in spades. Perhaps more importantly, however, this particular project helps certify the fact that one can truly LS swap anything, if you have the time and talent to do so.
