Since GM is going to pulling the covers off of their ultimate, gas swilling sports car tomorrow, they decided to resurrect their small truck entry last night.
Meet the new 2014 GMC Canyon.
This is GMC’s option for those who want a super light duty truck. Its been a while since Chevy has offered a truck with an inline 4 as standard equipment, but that’s what you get here. The 2.5 liter fast four cylinder makes a touch under 200 horsepower. Diesel fans should welcome the addition of a 2.8 liter straight four as well. If power is problem, there’s also a 300 horse V6 available as well. Not bad for a small truck.
Personally? I think it would be sweet if the used the Cheyenne concept to inspire a performance oriented version of this. I mean, come on GM. you’ve got to have a few LSs just lying around somewhere right? Throw ’em into this thing and call it the Syclone. Legions of sport truck fanatics would be forever in your debt.
