Nexen Tire Cadillac CTS-V Drift Demo Car for Sale LS1tech

LS6-powered Cadillac CTS-V drift car has been used in promotional events to showcase their high-performance tire line-up.

We here at LS1tech certainly do appreciate tire-slaying antics, after all, it’s kind of our thing. In particular, drifting has really caught our attention as of late. LS swaps are prominent in all levels of the sport, from grassroots racers all the way up to Formula Drift, so it makes sense we would pay attention to it. So, when Nexen Tire reached out asking if we were interested in taking a look at their drift car, how could we say no?

This particular ride is a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V, and it’s for sale. Unfortunately, the LS1tech garages are full right now, so we can’t grab it, but one of you certainly should, because it looks like a solid deal.

Priced at $10,000, this V, located in Orange County, California, is setup to go sideways. According to representative Michael Trieu, it’s rocking the standard 5.7-liter LS6 engine under the hood, which has long tube headers, a custom single-exit exhaust system and a large custom air intake. It’s paired to the standard 6-speed manual transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels via a welded differential. Those differentials are a known weak spot of the Gen 1 CTS-V, so a spare working diff is also included in the sale.

The chassis and suspension setup is simple, and too the point, featuring a custom welded six-point roll cage and a set of BC Racing coil-overs, to control wheel movement. From there, a hydraulic handbrake with Wilwood master cylinder is paired to a dual rear caliper setup, to lock those rear wheels on command. Our seller notes that an additional pair of STR wheels is included, for drift spares.

While the big handbrake is a cool feature inside the car, there is also something much cooler happening inside. Being that this is a demo car, used for drifting, it was also designed to accommodate ride-alongs. As such, that six-point cage has been formed around four Sparco racing seats and harnesses. Yes, you can still scare the whole family from behind the wheel of this Caddy. Wrapping things up inside is a nice Sparco steering wheel.

The mod list carries on from there, but those are the key points. The car runs, drives and is ready to rip. In fact, it’s only missing two things, as far as we can see: an angle kit, for maximum dorifto, and a new owner, ready to drive this thing. Trieu says prospective buyers can contact him directly via cell phone: 949-444-2199.
