One-Owner Camaro Z28 Has Only Seen the Rain a Handful of Times

2002 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Heating up the LS1Tech Marketplace, fourth-gen Z28 has under 10,000 miles, still has that new car smell.

If you ever wanted to place an LS under the tree this holiday season, you could try the buy-here pay-here lot, eBay, or your nearest Chevrolet dealership. Before going through all of that, though, why not check out our LS1Tech Marketplace? There might be an LS you won’t find anywhere else, after all.

Here’s such an example we happened upon recently: a one-owner fourth-gen Chevy Camaro Z28 that has every member’s attention.

2002 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Owned by the father of LS1Tech forum member dojob, the Camaro was purchased new in September of 2002. Since then, the red Z28 has logged only 9,700 miles on its 5.7-liter LS1 V8 engine and 4L60E four-speed automatic.

According to the poster, the Camaro still has its new car smell, rocks a pair of T-tops, and was “caught in rain a few times close to home, a hand full of times, is the only time it’s been in rain.” The car is said to be extremely clean and properly maintained, with no expenses spared. And since it’s one of the last Camaros before the 2010 retromod revival, this red Z28 is truly special.

It’s priced at $15,999, which is high, but respectable given the condition. We are watching this one rather intently, and for good reason. The fourth gen F-Body didn’t get much respect immediately after it’s passing in 2002, and prices flattened. There was a time when manual, LS1 cars in good shape were trading hands for pennies on the dollar. While we don’t suspect these last year F-Bodies have hit collector status, their status among car enthusiasts has never been doubted. Specialty examples, like this last model year, 2002 Z28, may dictate the future prices and desirability of F-Bodies. So, everyone, watch closely, and happy bidding, we hope this one goes to a loving home.
