This video is hot off the presses, showing a 4th generation Chevrolet Camaro roaring down the quarter mile in just 8.63 seconds at 158 miles per hour and based on the fact that this car packs a 6-speed manual transmission – this is the fastest 6-speed Camaro in the world.
To hit those incredible numbers, the owner has fitted the LS1 engine with a monster turbo setup that allows this Camaro to force over 1,100 horsepower into the manual transmission and from there, it is up to the driver to get this beast down the track as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
The result is an elapsed time of 8.63 seconds for the turbocharged Camaro; which the owner states is the quickest quarter mile time for a GM 6-speed car ever and while I’m not sure if that is true or not (I imagine that it is true), 8.63 is smokin’ fast when you are rowing your own gears.
In addition to speaking with the driver before the Camaro hits the track, there are some great burnout clips and – most importantly – some absolutely incredible launch shots that let you get an earful of the boosted LS1 at hard throttle before and during launch. Oh that launch…so awesome.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s.
