Jimmir Johnson's 1971 Corvette

This is a story for the Corvette fans of the world — and, well, the NASCAR fans of the world as well. At SEMA 2014 a very special vehicle debuted in a wonderful new light, and that vehicle was Jimmie Johnson’s 1971 Corvette Stingray.

It really shouldn’t come as any surprise that the six time Sprint Cup champion is also a die-hard Corvette fanatic, since they are quite unique and amazing cars. Chevrolet teamed up with the well-known race car driver in order to make his ’71 Corvette a one-of-a-kind concept, and it certainly paid off.

Though some may not like the idea of throwing old technology into an amazing classic, it’s hard to have any complaints against this beautiful example.

Chevrolet took the car for a frame-up rebuild and somehow managed to preserve it’s absolute antique and elegant look while updating it with some new and improved performance parts.

The biggest change was most definitely in regards to the new engine under the hood: A fifth generation LT1 V8 that spits out 460 horsepower.

If the engine isn’t drool-worthy enough for you, the ride also sports a six-speed manual transmission, adjustable coilovers, and eighteen inch blacked-out wheels that were made to replicate the original 1971 rallye wheels.

Yet, when we look at the pictures from SEMA 2014 it is clear that the Corvette still looks very true to its roots.

One truly amazing thing about this stunning Stingray concept is that it was built in thirty-five days to prepare it for SEMA 2014. Whether or not you’re a fan or Jimmie. hate him with every ounce of your being, or really just don’t give a damn, there is just no denying that this is one lovely 1971 Corvette.
