Any 383 ls's in the 10s?? wondering what you guys with 383 ls1s are running? im on my quest for 10s this season my setup is a 383 ls m6 in a 00 camaro ss. race weight is around 3400 with me in it. full umi suspension skinnys n slicks 9 inch with 4.30s 11.6 to 1 compression cnc trickflow 225s ported fast 92/92 texas speed 1 7/8 lts thru cutout full boltons and big custom spec eps cam 240/256 .647/.647 111lsa wondering what fully done 383s will do havent really seen to many of them posted on here there 1/4 times |
Though I don't have a 383, I see no reason why you can't reach your goals. It sounds like a pretty stout setup. If your cam matches up well with your heads, 10s should be in the bag especially at a 3400 lb raceweight. |
If you can get it to 60 foot in the 1.40's with you setup it should break 10's easy. Good luck! N2 |
383 ls1, 11.4 comp, prc 5.3 heads, 243/251 .623/.623 111lsa cam, fast 92mm, th400, 3450 raceweight. ran 10.4@129 and made 427rwhp. |
It better run 10s lol |

I assume you ran N20 to run times in your sig.....If you dont mind me asking, what shot was that with? |
IIRC reason being why you don't see too many 383 setups is because of the price, usually guys go with 402s or 408s for around the same price as a 383 setup. |
i made the mistake of doing a 383 but now doing a 408 wish i would have done this 408 before |
My 383 N/A last year ran a 7.26 in the 1/8th mile with a stock ls6 intake/TB and stock 243 heads. That equals about an 11.3 in the 1/4. Should be able to hit 10s on motor with the PRC heads, Fast intake, 90mm TB and bigger cam. I know I could get there with a bigger converter and an aftermarket torque arm easily. btw my 60fts were consistent 1.56-1.58s with the stock torque arm. |

A friend of mine has an almost stock camaro running 7.0's all day long in the 1/8 which I believe converts to the 10 second range in the 1/4 Car is a Stock 02 ls1 z28, upgraded to ls6 intake, ls6 cam on stock 241 heads and ls6 valvesprings, long tubes, nitrous converter and a 100 dry shot. Car only has bilstein shocks and running a 265 radial. 1.5 60'. If he can do that pretty much stock, I don't see why a freaking 383 wouldn't, lol. |

Might be an 01 then, I know he had the ls6 intake installed |
Has to be earlier, 01-02 had the ls6 intake, 98-00 didn't. Also the 98-2000 had the EGR as well and the LS6 intakes didn't have that. |
