10's with a v6?

Been registered here for ever and just lurked.. but now visiting more and
posting.. so thought I should get the 10sec club next to my name. So
submitted to join the group and make my little post.

Not an LSx... or rwd..... but hey its GM.. so all good right? :(

200k mile stock shortblock, local shop heads, zzp st5 cam,
double roller chain, e85, mutt T67 turbo. Built up trans with
GMR 1" chain and torsen, ISS wheel removed for haul effect sensor,
4th gear disabled.

Best run in this video

Hoping to be the 9's club by end of year :)

The car is ugly but it moves decently well for what it is.

Thanks..

Spent a bit for that trans. It held up but the ZZP converter took some abuse.
100+ passes on the trans, mostly in the 10's. My 60 foots kept getting better
and more boost added but wasnt getting any quicker.. 10.48@133 @ 19psi and 1.67 60 foot... 10.41@132 @ 21psi and 1.54 60 foot.. The TCC readings
was that it the converter was slipping waaay to high, loosing alot of power
down the track.

Parts and some build specs are whats pretty much done in the
GM Racing ecotec single digit cars they had. They used the same trans
bolted up to the 4cyl engines.

Current trans being worked on uses the GMR input shaft (Good for 1200hp),
Precision Converters multi disc locking converter, some upgraded
goodies inside that came out since original trans built... and if works out
will get the transbrake and two step done. The locking converter will be
tits, as can lock it in 2nd and 3rd. Should/Hoping to pick up ~7mph just with the trans updated.

strong gtp. I have owned and modded many L67 w bodies over the years they are very easy to get results per dollar spent.

not to downgrade your accomplishment as yours is much quicker than any of mine were but so anyone in this thread realizes the full potential of the 3800 .....in a 4th gen rwd firebird Tim King went 8.9 in the low 150's with one and zzp went 8.6 @ 159 in a fwd gtp that I believe was actually still street registerred at the time.

the series 2 3800 was engineered by gm powertrain just before the ls1 and shares a lot of similarities , cross bolted mains , roller rockers , powdered metal rods later on - stout stuff.

Its a good motor.. i've seen all those guys in action and met over the years.
Used em all for ideas of what to do and not do.

Some of those cars were total shells on wheels. ZZP car and blue intense car were total tube frames.

I don't have the bank or skill or ambition to go that far.. yet..
