Brown Chevette 10.29 new best

Still need to play with my launch to try and lower the 60'. The first run was supposed to be an easy footbrake run. I got in it a little more than I originally planned. Here's some pictures and a couple videos of the night.

New personal best tonight. I think this is about it on the current setup.

Awesome times!!!!

JoeNova 07-09-2018 10:44 AM

I still feel like there is more hiding in that setup. Have you tried open headers?

lazerlemonta 07-09-2018 11:48 AM

Kick Ass Pass!

Romulus22 07-09-2018 01:43 PM

Thanks guys, there might be a hair left in it. I really don’t know what it’s doing off the line. All of my 60’s were better this time around but I think I’m still spinning more than I should be. Also I’m almost guessing when to shift cause it’s hard to watch my tach at the same time make sure I’m not headed for the wall. The car is a handfull the first 330’. When fall weather comes back around I’ll try some more.

JoeNova 07-09-2018 02:17 PM

You need some decent 90/10 or adjustable front shocks to get that front up a little more in the air. Good to see the 60 foot is in the 1.4 range where it should be. I still feel like there's more hiding in there somewhere.

Romulus22 07-09-2018 02:43 PM

I’ll look at front shocks for now. Pretty sure I want to switch to coil overs in the rear on my next revision though. Another thing to remember, the car is under 400 whp. 10.4’s aren’t too bad lol

Oh and open headers.........I’d rather lose a tenth than be the noisy guy running 10’s. My mufflers are a straight through design. I don’t think I’m losing much there.

JoeNova 07-10-2018 06:49 AM

I can get you some pulls on a Dynojet if you're looking for comparable HP numbers to everyone else..

Romulus22 07-10-2018 04:12 PM

Free??? Haha

i know an old friend who has a dynojet I thought about sticking it on there. I’m not concerned about numbers but I wouldn’t mind doing a check up on the tune sometime. Just to make sure everything’s where it’s supposed to be.

JoeNova 07-10-2018 05:49 PM

Possibly free, and almost an hour closer to you.

ragtopz28 07-10-2018 06:39 PM

What is the race weight?
Assuming ~2400, I'd say it making about 375rwhp.

I’ll take you up on the offer if you don’t mind going and hooking up your laptop and checking it out making sure it’s still running good. If I’m just gonna go for a number I really don’t care that much. If it’s not free either and you want to text me more details that’s fine too.

I haven’t had it on the scales since the power glide, and cage. I’m guessing in the 2400-2500 weight with me in the car.

Given the BTR S3 cam, PRC 2.5 heads, and FAST 102, it should be 50-70 hp more than that, although small diameter torque converters do pretty poorly on the dyno.

There are 3 shops in Fairfield Ohio, all with dynojets, all of which I have access to. I have a Trans Am to tune/dyno soon at his buddies shop (made 434 wheel on a base tune I did, I should be able to get 25 more out of it on the dyno), and Brian might throw his truck on one of them too. I'll find out when this is all going to happen and give you a heads up.

I was just going by ET, MPH, and Weight (I guessed pretty close). Wallace Calculator has been very accurate on 3 of my cars.

Romulus22 07-11-2018 02:06 PM

Going off of my previous mustang dyno run and a weight of 2400 lb the numbers are spot on with what I’m running. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...c14a09a39e.png

More powa!

Romulus22 09-04-2018 07:42 PM

Eventually..... the thought crossed my mind to put a small shot of nitrous on it to try and hit the 9’s. I’d rather just wait for a turbo.
