How deep into the 10's will it go? I have a 99 ss that I'm about to change a bunch up on. I haven't tracked it hard since the 408 went in a few years back due to needing the stock high-mile ten bolt to last, so I don't have any idea what's its going to run close to. I just threw in a spooled 9" with 3:90's and decided to build the top end. It's getting some slightly massaged gmpp cnc'd ls3's with a cid single plane and a 4500 throttle body on top (going speed density) and is going out through 2" primary-3" collector headers. Cam is in the 24x-25x, .63x-.60x range with Johnson drop in hydraulics. Static compression is 11.2:1. This is all in front of a 4000 stall 60e and will spin mid to upper 7000 on a 28" mt drag radial. Race weight is probably about 3450. I'm going to try to hit a 1/4 track after the tune in a few weeks. I'll dog the first few runs to get the rear suspension dialed in, but I'll probably only get one glory run in before I get kicked for not having a cage. Any idea what my slip should be looking like? I'd love to hit in the 10.5 area or below. |
10.5 should be a walk in the park. |
Agreed, mid 10's....hope you do better. |
Any updates on your car, track times? |

I just got done installing an rsm front end, with some alterations to make it more useable, and I'm waiting for MWC to get some tubs in stock so I can make some room in the rear. I'm also building a stout 4l80 with a brake to throw in at the same time. I plan on cutting a few hundred pounds out total and want to get the car as close to 30xx lb as possible in street trim as it's still my daily driver. Hopefully with a good hit off the brake, a slightly higher stall, and weight reduction, I could see a 9.9x glory pass before I start throwing boost at it. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...e065d09aa.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...0c384b3a4.jpeg |
Those front ends are cool! Got a buddy that done one on his twin turbo car. Nice! |
