What shocks for a DD and 10's

Dunno if this will get moved or not but I wanted to see what the guys that are running 10's have to say. I am in the market for new shocks and struts and I want drag/street setup. Looking more for drag but I want it to ride better then stock because the car feels like the love boat when I go through a turn right now. I was think the QA1's or the koni's from Strano. Which one should I go with or is there something else I should look at?

I wouldn't mind lowering it like .5" to 1"
car is a 99 TA

i got the CE 3 wways in the back. they work pretty good for the price.

I was just talking to someone about them. Good for drag racing are they ok for street. Now I only drive my car to work which is about 2 mile drive. Do they feel better than stock rears?

i think they make the rear end hop a little more. but I honestly don't care my definition of streetable it really loose.

stock here.

QA1 is your best bet in my opinion. I Have several friends running in the 9's, and they swear by them. One of them is running 9.0 @ 146mph. He's real close to running 8's and he still loves his QA1 shocks

I would like to hear som more input on this subject. My best 60ft. is in my sig. video which is 1.47 Thats on stock shocks and springs with a M6. How much will I gain going to a set of Afco or QA1's. I don't think I will gain more than a tenth if that. We need some before and after results.

HellRaiser Nov 15, 2006 02:49 PM

Wow stock and 1.47 60' in a M6 would be hard to beat. Do you have the WS6, I only have the standard and it feels real sloppy.

My car has so much body roll going in turns and when I hit bumps.

02SOMWS6 Nov 15, 2006 02:57 PM

Ya , it's a WS6 with very low milage. I can put the the front swaybar back on and it will drive like stock except for the spool in the rear

HellRaiser Nov 15, 2006 03:26 PM

WS6 have different shocks than standard's right?

02SOMWS6 Nov 15, 2006 04:05 PM

? I think the firehawks got the better bilstein shocks( yellow and blue) mine are orange

I have stock shocks and stock springs in the back with Hals QA1's up front with stock springs around the. Driving it on the street, I set the Hal's to 9 or so and it feels stiffer then stock, so no detriment on the street.

Plus the car does launches well, I think a 1.40 60' for a 3325# H/C car is not bad ;)

Looks kinda like this:

Are the fronts the R series? Stock springs up front? That saves me a little money, thats always a good thing. I think I'm gonna order up the fronts for now and see how the car reacts. I don't care about wheel stands ,just what ever it takes to get a better 60ft and E.T. If a wheel stand goes along with it so be it. I have cut a 1.47 barely getting them off the ground. My goal is to 60ft better and still keep the front end down. I might have to get front end limiters
