could this be 10's

It's a 2000 TA 89k miles, A4 with yank 4000 stall, 3:73 gears stock 10 bolt, slp lid, pacesetter longtubes with true duals, ls6 intake, MS4 cam with supporting valvetrain, LCA arms, torque arm, panhard bar, and ET streets. car is stock as of now this is what I wanna do in the spring. do you think the 10 bolt would hold up. say with 1.70 60 ft could this dip into the 10's.

I would bet no. Add a set of PRC, AFR, or ETP heads and maybe a small shot. And NO WAY you're gonna do it cam-only with a 1.70 short-time. Better have a hell of alot of mph, or drop at least .2 off that 60 foot.

Here's how I would do it: First of all, DO NOT BUY A COOKIE CUTTER CONVERTER!!!!! None of the fast guys on this board do. There are a few really good companies that will build a converter tailored to your specific application and needs. They will also usually restall the converter, tighten/loosen as necessary. Find them. Ask fast guys on the board what they run. Don't ask a guy running 12's. Call around for pricing. Expect to pay around $1000 for a quality converter. I'm telling you from experience, don't take the cheaper route. When building a fast car, cheaper is usually inferior. With that size cam, I would think a small dry shot should do the trick. Stock motor and good tune will easily handle 125 shot. But don't expect your stock tranny to. It will.....for awhile. Same with the rear. It might survive a few nitrous passes dead-hooking, but it will break. Upgrade before you break things. It's usually cheaper because you don't risk the chance of damaging something else with it, and you can get some $$$ toward upgrades if you have parts in good working condition......Just my 2 cents.

I wouldnt count on a 4L60e for anything other than grocery getting. You're gonna wanna spin the motor upwards of 7000 rpms to get everything that cam has, and stock A4's don't like that at all! :judge: TH-400 has my vote.

yeah man, you either need heads or a nitrous shot to get you there. right now id say your running around mid 11s to low 11's. the 10 bolt will be on barrowed time just like the stock 4L60e. your going to have to launch the hell out of that thing(bad for rear) and spin your rpms really high(bad for trans). i would look into a decent H/C setup with a smaller cam and think about running nitrous. this will keep your rpms down another 500rpm and will hopefuly make your trans hold up. if you plan on running nitrous, you will need a stall built for nitrous. calling one of the sponsers and letting them know your goals is your best bet. good luck.
