Default N2RacingLS1's New PB 10.47 @ 127.19 NA

Update in post #123 4/13/12

My daugther took this photo on the last Thursday in May of my car leaving on a 3,000 RPM footbrake NA, no power adder launch at a special event that I was invited too.

The car ran a 1.471 60 ft time, 6.819 1/8 mile ET at 99.19 MPH and a 10.784 1/4 mile ET at 123.45 MPH. I then backed that run up with a 1.474 60 ft time , 6.819 1/8 mile ET at 99.18 MPH and a 10.789 1/4 mile ET at 123.22 MPH in 80degree temps at 2:00 PM in the afternoon with a track temp around 115 +/-.

I thought you all would like to see the photo. She is really getting pretty good at taking action photos.

Here is most of it!

Formula hardtop, 346 CI LS1, heads and cam with boltons, stalled auto, 4.10 gears at 3,440 lbs.

The car has been a lot of hard work and it has been fun. It started life with me in December 2002 at 91K miles totally stock not one performance part in it or on it at 3,665 lbs, after I installed the roll cage. I had been racing my other WS6 cars and decided I had better build one instead of abusing them. I raced the car for 5 years with the totally stock engine with LS1 intake and headers never took the valve covers off ran 8.30's NA with stock transmission and convertor with 3.23 gears, then in 2005 new 3.70 rear end ran 8.00's, then in 2006 new transmission with stall convertor ran 7.60's NA and 7.30's on a 75 hp dry shot.

2007 brought the pump gas engine change with mild cam, rear gear change to 4.10 due to RPM increase of new engine and more weight reduction results 6.77 ET- 101 MPH 1/8 mile best to date NA and 10.75 ET - 123.5 MPH 1/4 best to date NA. This on a footbrake stall of 3,000 RPM's best 60 foot to date is a 1.407.

So the journey started at 8.30's in 2003 and continues today at 6.70's!!! I have but not installed yet bigger fuel injectors, new intank fuel pump so I can use my NOS dry kit with the new enigne setup and LPE two step so I can start using the transbrake.

Here is a better photo of the car leaving the line not sure why it looks like it does!

Default Good 3,000 RPM launch photo

Great photo Jeff, I mean Katherine. The next time we are together at the track I want her to take some photos of my car. I'm glad that your car has been running strong and consistant with the new combo. I can't wait for cool fall weather so we can both run new best times.

I was very pleased with how the car performed on May 30, 2008. I went back and reviewed the runs where I knew the car launch good and I shifted the gears correctly and here is what I found. The results of the best five runs are below!

The best sixty foot was 1.457 and the worst was 1.481 (.024) diff

The best 1/8 ET was 6.819 and the worst was 6.855 (.036) diff

The best 1/8 MPH was 99.19 and the worst was 98.68 (.51) diff

The best 1/4 ET was 10.784 and the worst was 10.835 (.051) diff

The best 1/4 MPH was 123.45 and the worst was 122.99 (.46) diff

Not to bad considering all runs were made from 2:16 PM to 3:50 PM a total of 95 minutes from start to finish.

Well as Coach said the LS1's seem to be really easy when it comes to running consistent times.

Thanks!

Here is an update!

We went up to I-40 Dragway in Crossville, TN. on July 11, 2008 and the car ran almost the same as it did on May 9, 2008 the last time I was at I-40 Dragway.

Here is a comparsion!

On May 9, 2008 in the left lane at 7:09 pm, My car ran 1.501 60 ft 4.460 330 ft 6.973 ET at 99.701.

On July 11, 2008 in the left lane at 7:39 pm, My car ran 1.51 60 ft 4.468 330 ft 6.977 ET at 99.757.

On May 9, 2008 in the left lane at 8:39 pm, My car ran 1.500 60 ft 4.459 330 ft 6.967 ET at 99.887

On July 11, 2008 in the left lane at 8:20 pm, My car ran 1.507 60 ft 4.465 330 ft 6.968 ET at 99.993

I did manage two decent times in the right as well on July 11, 2008!

at 7:00 pm, My car ran 1.488 60 ft 4.448 330 ft 6.958 ET at 99.299
at 8:54 pm, My car ran 1.500 60 ft 4.453 330 ft 6.955 ET at 99.610

It is amazing how the weahter affects a cars performance! On a good note it is running consistent even if it is not running in the 80's.
