the second link should be a short video clip of a 2nd gear launch (1st is no use), its geared for 63mph in second and 95mph in 3rd when the clip about ends! :-)

I'm building something similar, bit a bit roomier. A mid-engine Trans Am, if I can get it all figured out.

Where are more details on your car? I'm particularly interested in the cost of the G50/adapter/clutch setup. I was thinking about the same parts for my car.

their mainstream action was replica Cobras, but the T70 lola replica is better looking in my opinion. they make up their own adaptor plate from billet alloy to hook up any G50 box to the Ls series which works a treat. i think they also do plates for other boxes as well.

my G50 box is a 5 speed manual and has been converted to a hydraulic clutch and release bearing. the clutch is a 7 1/2" clutchmaster triple plate race item. we run the box upside down so the breather was plugged and a new adaptor breather made for the (new) top side. its done like that to get the driveshafts into line with the hubs and chassis and works really well.

How much have you spent on this project? If you're still under $2009, check out grassrootsmotorsports.com they do a challenge every year, involving a drag race, autocross, and car show. this might be a good candidate for the challenge if you can account for your budget.

Well, I just sat here today and read the entire thread all at once, including some of the Honda-Tech(Im also a member on there) and Paki threads. I would like to say that this is probably th most extreme "crossover" that I have ever heard of and Im glad to see that you made it work. You did a great job and hopefully that you have fun on your next project.

Bad *** bro!! I definitely respect and also dont envy the amount of work it took to do that. Im in the process of helping my pops change out the Olds 215/th350 in his MGB GT over to an LQ9/4l60e and its mucho work when your dealing with such tight quarters. Your car doesnt look hacked and thats priority one snce you coulda pulled the swap off and it look like dog ****. Be proud of yourself for a job well done, Im impressed and Ive seen some weird combos. Besides the ls1 mini cooper this has got to top the list of "Most Ambitious Swaps Ever". Since youve gone this far maybe an STS style turbo setup would work to put it even more over the top.
