Amsoil, with napa gold series filter. Always have pressure above 45; even after hours of running. And less than 5 minute oil change.

I'd run redline in the rear and GM synchromesh in the tranny. That's just my opinion anyway...

I thought you guys would be using something a little thicker due to the weak valvetrain of the LS1? I was going to go with castrol 10-40, I used that and 10-30 and in my vette. Should I go to mobil 1? Any reason why? Or why the 5-30? Thanks, I am getting ready to change all the fluids in my car and a full tune up, just bought it!

Thanks for the advice, I wouldn't have thought of GM syncromesh...

Mobil 1 synthetic race blend.

"Especially for supercharged/turbo engines" and lower end race motors.

I get it from Advance.

My motor loves it!

Most of the top name brands of oil are pretty good. But if it has to be the BEST AMSOIL is the one.

Redline 10w30 is definitely very good, but to be totally honest, I see 10w30 synthetics being somewhat obsolete now when a 5w30 or 0w30 can do all the same things plus have the better flow when cold.

So the 10w30 can work very well, however if you start up in any temperatures below about 40F, you will benefit more from a 5w30 or 0w30 viscosity. And these oils are made with little or no viscosity index improvers, so there is no problem using them in the heat of summer, since these oils won't thin out.

You'd be okay with the Redline 5w30 in a higher hp application with aftermarket oil pump too?
