Default New Best: Cam Only...10s getting close

Last time out back in Nov the car went a best of 11.370 @ 116.88mph with 3600lb race weight. So I went to MIR today, caught some great air!The changes I made from my last pass was that pulled little bit of weight out of the car, I lost around 50lbs lol, and I made a duct that attaches to FTRA. Race weight this time was 3525. I think it has some 11.0hs in it as it sits. Didn't run with rear 15s and 275/50s yet, hopefully I will go tomorrow with those on. Here are the 3 best passes, Let me know what you think.

Very nice! I run similar numbers to your all except my 1/8th time. For some reason 7.2 is my best but I'm at 3800 race weight. I'm hoping this cam swap puts me 11.0@120. Out of ***** to turn.

Thanks Sam, yeah man I ended going but didn't bring the camaro. I should have though. I still need to finish up grinding my rear calipers to get the wheels to fit.

Very nice run man. I cut the same 60ft 1.47 with my full weight (3640lbs with me in the car) H/C/I car. Went a best of 10.90@123mph with a 1.47 60ft. If you can keep that 60ft and find a way to either drop a little more weight or add a little more power you can have that 10 second time slip!! Good luck

Thanks man! I'm slowly getting the weight down, now its at 3490lb with me. Trying to get it down to 3400-3450lb with me. Also I picked up some strange 10 way adj rear shocks. I could prob get a fast 90/90 set up but I'm not sure if I will see any gain from it. I know if I do I need to get some injectors too. Also I could prob ditch that crappy merge on the pacesetter ory and pick up couple ponys and maybe some ft-lb of tq.

If you don't mind me asking whats your 1/8th et and mph? I thinking I'm going to have to pull off a high 6.8 to low 6.9s to get a 10sec slip.

Also going to be throwing some 4.10s in. So maybe I can pick up little from that too.

I did change the valve springs and pushrods to work with the cam other than that the heads are 100% stock.I wish I could mill them, also would get them ported at the same time but I know the piston to valve clearance is all ready close. So there would be no point taking them off unless to change them for some aftermarket cnc heads.

Nice Runs...... What are you shifting at?

I think the 3.90 gears would get you to the 10.99 with a good hook.

Thanks guys, man really hope so. I am shifting at 1-2 6950rpm and 2-3 at 7krpm.

Btw 4.10s are in, wow the car feels like a completely different car now. Doesn't even seem like its the same car anymore. Also installed adj. lca's and adj pan hard bar.

Thanks Mike! Yeah its still on stock fuel pump and injectors. When I eventually go to fast setup I will go bigger injectors. Prob 38 or 42lbs.

Yeah the supra seems to be never ending, one of these days I will finish it and get it running....Whats done to your 88'?

Excuse my lack of fbody knowledge, but is it a 6 spd or auto, cause your list has a 4000k stall, yet right above you mention a 6 spd

Exactly what TA1364 said......The 10bolt is out of a 6spd F-body, so it has/or had 3.42 gears in it. Any way now I have 4.10s in it.

Honnestly I can't say because I went from 3.23 to 4.10s, then 4.10s to 3.42s now back to 4.10s. The only reason I changed the 4.10s the first time was because I broke them.

Thanks man, hopefully I can get 60ft down a little more. To be honest I'm really not sure...Prob the biggest benefit I would gain going to a adj torque arm would be switching to a cross member type to get the stress on the tail shaft of the trans.
