Default Ls1 irocz first Track run: Updated

After a year long build finally took my 1987 iroc to the track. It's a full weight car with the following mods.

2000 5.7 sbe
243 heads. Home ported. Shaved .025
224/224 .600 .600 112 lsa cam
fast 90/nw 92
ati 10%
long tubes
yank 3600.
410 gears.

DA was at 2600 ish for both passes.
Air temp 94 degrees 85% humidity

First pass whent 11.81@112.73
second pass whent 11.71 @ 112.50
Edit: second pass whent 11.77

car pulled great till the 1/8 mile then fell on it face. Feels like it's running out of usable rpm with the baby cam. Overall though it ran well considering the horrible track conditions.

Update:
Got another crack at this in decent weather. The only changes are a meziere water pump.

I think this is about as fast as this car is going without major changes.

Congrats man! That's a nice and simple setup that is making pretty good power to send a full weight f body close to mid 11's.whats was your 60'

Thanks man. Ran 60' times of 1.64 and 1.65 I think. I'll have to check the slips to be sure. I'll take pictures and post up when I get a moment.

That's a good time but the trap speed seems a little off. What does it run in the 1/8th? Weight?

Here are the slips of both runs. The mph is disappointing. I was holding the car in 3rd for fear it would shift just before the finish line. I'm thinking I shold have let it go into 4th. It was completely out of steam the final 200 ft or so. I don't know what rpm I crossed at, but it was definitely past a good useable rpm.

I'm not sure of the weight. It's a fully optioned car and i do have the a/c hooked up. Spare was pulled. I weigh 250 ish.

Didn't I buy some parts off you a while back?

My 91' Z28 was around 3300 on the scales and it was a full power car.

Good info thanks. I'd say my car weighs at least that, with the 12 bolt and subframe connectors maybe slightly more.

Looks like a sleeper!! What did the 4th gen have done?

I think it'll do 11.5x once you figure out what's going on in the top end. Is it pulling timing? The DA and heat isn't helping you either.

I'm don't know what all he had done as I didn't get an opportunity to speak with him. His was a manual car, with a drag pack.
I don't know about the timing, I don't have a data logger or any tuning devices. I'm running a basic street tune by Steve Williams at efi performance.
I can only go as quick as 11.50 at my local track before they require cage work and additional safety equipment. I plan on going down in the fall and testing how steadfast they enforce the rules on test N tune sessions.

I'm SURE the weather conditions cost everyone .2 ish that day. The conditions were awful for drag racing.

What size tire? I'm running 26" with 3.73 and cross in 3rd at 6200 rpms with a yank ss4000. Probably need a 28" tire for 4.10s if you aren't spinning it high.

Yes sir 26" here as well. I'm lowered about an inch all the way around so I was hesitant to run a 28". It's looking like a gear swap is in my future. The car doesnt feel comfortable on the highway. I'm thinking about 323s or 342s.

what mph are you crossing at?

With stock cam and heads 113.5 with good air. I went low 114 a couple weeks ago with ls6 cam and 2000' da. Should go 116 in good air, but will be really close to shifting to 4th. I liked the 3.42 when I had it.
