Are 11's attainable?

I will be going to run the car for the first time this weekend after installs and I am curious if 11's are attainable or should I expect something different. Here is a list of my mods. Thanks for the input...

3600 stall
224/228 .585 .585 112 LSA
Hooker LT's
True Duals
ASP Pulley
LS6 Intake
SFC, LCA, PHR
MT ET Drag Radials
Weight 3300 lbs

Pushing it all through a stock 10 bolt w/ 2.73's which will probably hurt some?

blkZ28spt Feb 16, 2006 05:46 PM

What did it run stock or with only some of those mods? What is you elevation and what kind of weather do you expect?

Have you had it on a dyno? Had it tuned?

You might make it, really hard to tell because there are many variables. You have a select few running 11's NA and SI, guys like me with a 4k stall and big cam running high 11's and others with cam/stall still in the 12's.

zspot98 Feb 16, 2006 06:54 PM

It has been tuned, but not on the dyno as of yet. The only times I had before this was in an 1/8 which was 8.9 with a 2.6 60 foot time bone stock on balding tires. Elevation is minimul and the weather should be in the mid 60's. Finally the track is known as the house of hook so we'll see if that's true?

riddler Feb 17, 2006 04:53 AM

Yeah you'll make 11's all day long. Be confident!!!!! :007:

rebersole2 Feb 17, 2006 11:41 PM

I feel the stock gears are going to kill you. It is hard to make up about 1.4 seconds in the 1/8th (which is ABOUT what it will take to get you into the 11's in the 1/4), let alone with the same gears that you were running before. It looks like you are heading in the right direction with your mods, keep it up and good luck.

00Vette Feb 18, 2006 12:14 AM

I don't want to be a buzz kill for you, but I would say you need some gears to run 11's! You may be able to get there otherwise, but I doubt it.

But then again, I'm running 12.2's with 119mph traps. :bang: ........that should be well into the 11's with someone who can actually drive. :jest:

EZ GOIN Feb 18, 2006 01:15 AM

I would say 11's are possible, especially in cool weather at "the house of hook" great track :judge:

Smokinstorm Feb 18, 2006 08:20 AM

It's certainly possible but I'm really worried about those gears. I've only run an 1/8th mile with my car but I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaay heavier than you with less mods (no cam) and should be able to eek out an 11 once I get my new tranny. I swtiched from 3.42's to 3.90's and the gears alone only got me .05 and less than a half MPH at the 1/8th. I'm just afraid the 2.73's may be a little too tall to pull for the first 60' to get you an 11. Good luck though. Please surprise me. :)

zspot98 Feb 18, 2006 06:49 PM

Well I didn't make it to the 1/4 mile this weekend, but did take it out to the local 1/8 mile and was pretty pleased w/ the results. 7.7 @ 91.25 mph w/ a 1.8 60 foot. I guess with better suspension and different gears I could make that even lower? Just thought I's post the update.

chrs1313 Feb 19, 2006 12:47 PM

looks like and 11 second pass to me or right on the edge

gen3toy Feb 20, 2006 10:43 AM

whack some 4.11s in it will go 11s 4.11s very commom down under with low 11s ls1s

sleeperstyle Feb 20, 2006 09:29 PM

do not listen to any of these people. gears DON'T MATTER if you can 60ft the same as you can with the taller gears (like 1.6's). i do just fine with 2.73's- and with YOUR mods i'd damn well be 11's- hell with a pulley and ls6 i'd be looking for 11.90's with good da'. all a gear might do is help with the 60ft- but you don't NEED it.

best bet for you- launch the shit out of the car, no holds barred. heat the tires up and flash the converter from about 1500rpms. if you pull off at least a low 1.7 60ft i don't see how you won't see 11's.

btw- my 1/8 mile times are 7.7's (forget mph right now), but you should pick up more on the big end, and im fairly consistent (12.1's and 12.2's every time if i launch the car like a man.)

good luck.

jay_99z Feb 20, 2006 10:52 PM

Agreed. You can get to 11's just fine with 2.73's.

And Mike......I think you got it if you can hook.

JakeY2KZ Feb 23, 2006 09:44 AM

Had the exact mods as you other then I was running a 231 cam. Ran a 12.23 @113 on 2.73's. I think my car was capable of running a high 11 at the time with a better 60' but I think the MW converter was holding me back. :eyes: That run it was a 1.76. I'd say a low 1.7 or high 1.6 you can easily see an 11 sec run.

Just did a quick calc on http://Smokimup.co//html and with a 3300 lb car making 380hp you should cut a 11.96 @ 118.68

blkZ28spt Mar 2, 2006 01:35 PM

The only way to know is to go do it.

Have you run yet.............? When do you plan to?

You can look at other cars, gues, use calculators all you want but that doesn't mean crap until you DO it.

LS1SpeedAddict Mar 2, 2006 01:51 PM

I hope you do because Im running basically the same setup and I hope to run in the 11s.

zspot98 Mar 4, 2006 06:37 PM

The only problem is that there is'nt a 1/4 track within 2 hours so I'm gonna have to go of my 1/8 mile times and hope that when I get to the 1/4 it does as well. Here are my latest numbers from this weekend. 7.51 @ 91 mph w/ a 1.6 60' time. Hopefully that puts me somewhere in the 11's? But only 1 true way to find out.

DOUBT IT Mar 5, 2006 01:59 AM

I think you should have no problem getting in the 11's with some tires and some practice.

I just went 11.995 the other night, stock internal with a big stall, FWIW. :)

That calculator is WAY off. I'm about 3470-3480 with 325rwhp BEFORE the stall, and I ran a 11.995 @ 111.98.

All you need to run an 11 is some traction and a low short time.
