11's barely. Vid inside!!

Welcome me to the club, I guess!

I ran a 11.96 @ 123.2 the other day @ Norwalk, OH.
I have the usual bolt ons (Lid, LTs, Corsa exhaust through gutted cats) as well as a hotcam and a NX 100 shot, manual trans street tires. 60 ft was 2.2!! Yupp, my launches are no good.
The car runs 12.4 @ 115.5 n/a.
I've had huge problems with my rear suspension until I got new cheap shocks and airbags. Somewhat better now.
Anyways, looking at the trap speed, the car has much more in it. I need some stickier tires.
But I am happy. The car is a streetcar, not a drag car, therefore trap speed is much more important to me than ETs

you can tell by the trap speed that should be low low 11s or high 10s

I don't know. I usually try to stay away from the TnTs, its too crowded on those days.
I try to sign up for all the track rentals.
Hoewever, we should head out one of these days.

cool vid. what are you launching the car at?? sounds pretty high up there in the rpms

Try this-

18-20psi in back tires, 44-50 in the front
launch it around 3500-4000 rpm and slip the clutch quickly, dont dump it.

thats how i do it on street tires and 4.11s

meatfoam Jun 15, 2006 06:39 PM

Thank you!
That time I was launching @ 4500 rpm, slipping the clutch like a mofo.
I had to laugh when I read your suggestion about tire pressure, because that's exactly how it was set that day.
I tried all kinds of different things since it was my first time @ the track with this setup. I know that eventually I'll do a bit better.
I am just really happy about the trap speed, the ETs are secondary to me.
