Last Day at ATCO was a BLAST
For Dec 15 you could not ask for better. It was like a track rental, air was good, very little if any wind, track had bite (at least for my power level) and new bests were everywhere. I was in search of the elusive 11 sec slip....
Got 9 runs in by 1:30 and then I left, but could have easily gotten 5-6 more.
.....60'......330......1/8ET.....MPH....1000......1/4ET.....MPH....COMMENT
1 1.875 5.161 7.851 88.76 10.536 13.188 81.05 Missed 4th???
2 1.952 5.311 8.025 90.64 10.507 12.557 111.79 Missed 4th
3 2.049 5.433 8.149 90.13 10.490 12.444 116.58 Granny shifted
4 1.807 5.082 7.766 91.96 10.079 12.013 117.60 I can smell it
5 1.817 5.024 7.663 93.16 9.948 11.867 118.38 OH YEAH
6 1.782 4.969 7.616 92.75 9.905 11.829 118.19 Not a fluke
7 1.829 5.090 7.752 93.05 10.047 11.970 118.14 12.0 index???
8 1.768 5.005 7.643 93.72 9.909 11.817 119.06 BIG MPH
9 1.779 4.983 7.613 93.75 9.881 11.793 118.72 BEST OF DAY
All runs were at full weight, full interior, sway bar connected on 26x11.50 r16 ET streets with skinnies up front. Generally, I dropped the clutch at 4000 or 4500 or 5000 and flat shifted from run 4 on. I think the car has 11.50's or 11.40's in it if I took the sway bar off the front and tweak on the shock setting some and played with the suspension.
My goal of an 11sec slip is achieved and now the car will be retired from drag racing. On to autox/open track and maybe a Land Speed Racing event.
But it was a great day at ATCO.

The clutch never once acted funny....and on top of those 9 runs I made, my buddy made three runs in the car as well....so that's 12 runs in about 3 hours or so.
At one point I thought I broke something. Burnout goes fine, I pull up to the line and all of the sudden the car won't move??? So I slowly let the clutch out with the tranny in neutral, thinking I'm stuck in gear or the slave is hung up or something. Clutch releases fine, car idles in neutral, I can move the shifter into all gears??? WTF is going on. So shut the car off and get pushed out of the lanes. Well my stupid @$$ accidently hit the line lock button after my burn out was complete and so I was trying push the car against the brakes.....dumb dumb...dumb...Once I figured out what I had done all was well and that was just before run 5....
Now I know why guys use a momentary style putton, not an off/on switch...I should change mine.

Cool stuff, you could actually go faster. I have run 10.90's as low as 119 mph, my 60 ft back then was around 1.45-1.47 I think, was a while ago.
Either way it sure is a nice car to make back to back passes like that.
I think a 11.20 is very possible in your current setup.

Great runs! Your times show a nice progression throughout the course of the day!
How is your 12-bolt holding up after those launches? Any whine? Replacing my 10-bolt is my next mod, however I'm fighting with the whole 12 bolt vs. 9" vs. D60 question. I'd prefer to go with a 12 bolt, however I'm worried about getting the whine after a few trips to the track.
