Or any good Ideas? I'm in the middle of making my own valve spring compressor.

Made it in a class...

Called a multigage. Used for measuring and sizing bolts. Also used for checking tube sizes.

made from a piece of 2024 aluminum

-layed it out
-cut it
-drilled it
-tapped it
-filed it(within 0.005 on the sides)
-sanded it
-stamped it
-hand scribed a ruler onto it
-heat treated/naturally aged it
-polished it

i went ahead and bought his bc i just plain didnt feel like fooling with making one.

Pretty much. It is the simplest tool ever to make, why pay $35 for it? Does it's job nicely.
