Finally in the 12's!!!

I finally had my first 12 second pass!! I usually run my car at Bandimere speedway were the density altitude is usually not so good-in the summer it can be anywhere from 8000-9000 feet!! This weekend I took my car to Pueblo Motorsports Park where the density altitude was alot better- around 5000 feet!! Here is my best pass~
R/T...-.012
60'...1.744
330...5.225
1/8...8.194
MPH...82.72
1000...10.760
1/4...12.929
MPH...103.96
The modifications that I have done to my car are:
~SS 4000 Yank torque converter
~4.11 gears
~Pacesetter long tube ceramic coated headers
~Nelson performance tune
~UMI lower control arms, relocation brackets, subframe connectors and torque arm
~24,000 GVW B&M Supercooler
~BMR throttle body water bypass kit
~Mickey thompson drag radials
My car at Bandimere depending on the air usually runs anywhere from a 13.20 to a 13.40!! I was really excited this weekend!!

Im not dissing you or your car 1 bit but finally .... I prove a point to just about everyone who drives a LS1 who "THINKS" LS1 are far more superior then LT1 With all your mods you ran a 12.9 @ 103 on slicks...... Its funny
LT1'S and LS1'S are built from the same damn car differnt motor yet theres this fued on about it. Its like 2 seperate high profile gangs going against each other when in no way shape or form it should be happening..... Hate to tell you this but Ricers and Ford is " OUR " competition we shoudlnt be argueing about ourselfs. This isn't personal yet im sure someone is gonna have to read this and put there hands on the keyboard and basiclly start talking shit.... Not surprised its the internet. Anyways you do have a beautiful LS1 CAR.... and I do like the fact about the stats of where you race.... Try racing in ARIZONA where its still in the 90's till november.....lol :D

First of all your not comparing apples to apples!! Untill you have a timeslip from somewhere like Bandimere or pueblo to back up your bullshit, shut your mouth!! I'am guessing you don't even know what the density altitude is normally at in arizona-I'am guessing it's about 700 to 800 feet add 8200 feet and you have a totally different story!! I'd put money on it that your car at best would only run a 13.20+ here which is about what my car runs in really shitty air WITHOUT all the inard goodies your LT1 has like the 4.040 bore, magnum rockers, eagle forged crank blah blah blah!! My LS1 is completely STOCK unless you consider plugs and wires a modification!! There is a fued over this issue because of people like you-and you don't know why people are argueing about it-when yet your the one starting all of the shit and argueing about it!! I was just excited to go in the 12's and I wasn't running down LT1'S!! Next time you want to run down my car know what the fuck your talking about!! Yes you may run mid 12's at 800 feet but I ran high 12's at 7000 feet thats a big difference!! One more thing if RICERS and FORDS are supposed to be our competition go PICK on THEM and leave your fellow f-body enthusiasts alone-but also do us a favor know what your talking about so you don't embarrass us!! If you didn't want anyone to put there hands on a keyboard and start talking shit you shouldn't have started it!! You have a 97' LT1-get over it- we are all on the same side!!Don't run down my car or my 12 second pass with your ignorance!!

Dude, I bet you would nearly KILL for a 1300' DA. . . .I suffer through them all the time. . . . . but track prep isn't a high priority here :(

Yes I would ~ Sorry to hear about your track!! I hate loosing races because I spun and my sixty foot is off two tenths and my car can't run the number!!!!!

Duffster Oct 31, 2008 12:13 AM

Not just me, it's an even playing field :(

My stock 1995 LT1 went 14.1 @ 97mph on a 2.1 60ft, the Fiancees 1996 LT1 went 14.3 @ 98mph on a 2.2 60ft bone stock...... my stock LS1 went 13.1 @ 108mph on a 2.1 60ft... same track and weather was fairly comparable.

Anyone trying to cling to the fact that the LT1 is somehow on par with the LS1 is delusional. I owned LT1 cars for 3 years and I'm on my 2nd year with the LS1. It is night and day... sure you can mod the LT1 to be faster (My CC306 setup would destroy my ls1) but lay off the fan boy propaganda. The LT1 is a great engine... it's just not as 'great' as the LS1.. just as the LS1 isn't as great as the LS2.. and the (it keeps going...)...

Deal with it and quit crying about it.

I was at PMI as well bro. It was a good day. Looks like 2 of us hit 12's that day. Im going out Sunday for the 11's. :chug:

Good run tho!

Nice run. Aren't you guys scared of snapping your rear ends with radials. I went to the track once on street tires, and was trapping at 107 with an ET of 14.0. I want to get a set of radials for the rear, but worry to much about snapping the rear with no money to fix it.

You can normally find used 10 bolts for about $150.

Mine has about 11 runs with SLICKS and its doing great. The rears arent as weak as most people think. Most people spout off before they know what they are talking about.

Id be more worried about your clutch (if its stock) going out and starts slipping.

highway21 Nov 1, 2008 05:26 PM

good runs guys... and lt1's & ls1's are night and day.... just the DIS on the ls1's own the lt1's ignition system alone... and i didnt know we were at war with ford's and ricers... my race car is mustang and my daily driver is a integra and a 1966 mustang coupe.... then i hav my good old ws6 for weekend fun...some people need to be more open minded about car's.. its not all about chevy and v8's.. nice times though you guys

all the money i would waste on stock 10bolts... im just going to buy a fab9.. then launch at 5000 rpms all day lol... hav two gear boxs, one for track (410's with spool) and one for street (355's with posi)... will be dope

Nothing wrong with working with a 10 bolt. I do agree the 9'' is a TON stronger.

Im picking up a used 10 bolt just incase Im in a pinch and need a rear. 9'' isnt in the budget yet.
