That sucks dude. Pull out the spare tire and back seat next time and see if that gets you there.

trying to get to 11's just as I would drive it on the streets..... no doubt it would be there with back seat out and spare....

I hear ya about not wanting to gut the car but, removing the spare and jack alone would be a 40# reduction. That is enough to get you in the 11s.

no need for the spare or jack. I use mine as my DD and if i get a flat i got my insurance to tow me for free :D

I'll bet you have at least .3 just in shifting alone.

NJNETSFAN Dec 18, 2008 01:35 PM

wow, I thought my shifting was slow. I think you easily have .5 seconds in the shifting alone. You really need to work on your 1-2 shift. Your mph is really suffering and so is your e.t. There are bolt on only cars running 116+mph.

I need to work on is my trans forks so I dont break them power shifting. thats why i'm granny shifting.

I like what you said about a possible .5 off my time I was thinking maybe 11.7 but for a full weight (3800) with me in it and to get 11.5 would be fantastic. I'll be pulling trans when tax return comes around.......and currently working on N2O, 92mm and intake.

What RPM are you launching at? With those tires, the power you should be making, and the suspension setup you have, there's no reason you can't see a 1.5 60', maybe a low to mid 1.6 because of the weight. That right there should make the 11-second pass. With those gears and tires, I'd be launching around 6000 and dumping it pretty good. The 27x15" ET Streets shouldn't have any trouble handling that. If it's not grabbing, drop the pressure a pound or so at a time until it does. The car will walk a bit more up top as you get below 15 pounds but you'll make up big time on the ET if you can hook.

thanks for the advice...

launched at around 5k. if you see the vid I didn't have much time to realy see my tach cause I knew my burnout and then creeping up to stageing I didn't have much time to realy set myself..... but, I wanted to launch at 5500. and I know my shifting is not helping much.... car is going under the knife here soon so I can upgrade the trans and install N2O.......the roll bar! that run was at 15psi and hve started to log my runs so next time I'm going with 10psi and see what happens there...... I'm also looking for low 60 ft, around low 1.6 to mid 1.5 . plus I noticed car stall twice within my sixty foot!!! got find out why....

If you are trying for your best time, you don't have to launch on green. Set yourself up and go when you feel its good. The time doesnt start till your wheels move. Good Luck.

yea! but, also trying to improve on my reaction. I know it's harder to practice both but, only way to practice for all around best launches.....

+1

You don't have to power shift it but you can still shift it faster then that....IF your hydraulics are good. Thats an 11.80 car EASY with some decent shifts.
