Default Hit 12's first night at the track

Just got my camaro in august...finally quits raining and I get to take it to the track...turns out the track has been closed for like 5 weeks so it's greasy as can be

Anyway on my first run (first car on the track), I get a 13.99...okay there's a 13...I did what I came to do...that was spinning and trying to keep it straight through 3rd...next run was like 5 minutes later...pretty much the same thing but a little softer launch helped...13.80...then 13.6...then a little break...

Let some drag cars go and lay down a little rubber and then dropped the pressure in my old *** goodyear all seasons down to 24psi...came out soft like I had been and bogged...bad...13.4...next run was a hot lap pretty much...came out a little harder...like 3k rpm...still bogged a bit and ran 13.2...at 110...next run about 10 minutes later and got a 12.93 at 111.68....yay...still bogged a bit at 4k

Oh yea the first 3 runs had a passenger too...haha

Car's a 02 ss 6 speed with stock gears...lid...headers...catted y pipe...bullet muffler and supposedly a little baby 218 cam...and a terrible tune imho....

What kinda times would you guys think I'd be running with some good tires?

My mph makes me think I should have low 12's in her

Always feels good to break that 12. Took my Z28 to the track today for the first time since buying it in Oct. A4 Car with the following mods: SLP LID, Semi clean K&N, Smooth Air Bellows, Diablo Tuner and some MT ET Streets(Big help today). Best 60' of the day being a 1.96, with the best of a 12.92 @ 107. I tried to stall it higher to take advantage of the MT's, but the stock Converter just had me pushing the car outta the beams. Still happy none the less. Don't know the DA but we had a mostly cloudy to partly cloudy day with temps in the mid 50's and track temp being kinda cold too.

Congrats on your 12's also, didn't mean to hijack too much.

I know it's Density Altitute I think, basically how dense the air is. I know the lower the number the better. Lower # means denser air. I asked a bunch at the track, and they didn't know either. All I know is that it was a good day for the motors yesterday.

I know that there are plenty on here who can really explain it. Track I was at is 150ft above sea level, and the temp was 50-57 the whole day. No Idea what the Dew Point was.

What is your tire size and gear?
go with a small dia tire like a 26" that will help out your 60's

Gotta love sea level..... watch the barometric pressure higher #s generally reveal better ETs
