Yeah heat those tires up and I think you'll have it for sure in those temps.

We are all excited for you to run.
Reread over some of the tips and have a game plan for the launch the night before.

For the burnout, still be aggressive on the throttle rpm (5000) and dump it even with the line lock. It may take a few tries to get it but that's normal. The car should sit and spin for several seconds.

2 additional tips:

The harder you press the brake pedal prior to pressing the line lock button the greater the front brake pressure will be, so lean on the brakes before activating the line lock.

When you get the big smoky burnout, the car will want to hook much better than before so adjust your launch rpm accordingly. ie: If you have been launching @ 2200 with no burnout, then launch an extra 1000-1500 rpms with a big burnout to prevent bog.
Goodluck

Thanks for all the tips! That's funny you mention about pushing the break down firm. When I initially tried it out, the car would creep forward. I'll be sure to press it down firm and lock it in!

Wow, there may be a short road trip in my future. I'm sure you'll definately go into the 11s in those conditions.

..and keeping the rpms high will prevent creep kicking out too.
If all else fails then have someone stop you in the leading edge of the water box where it's damp and start burnout there and screech forward.
I want to see a cloud of white smoke. lol

My 1st mods were DRs, LTs & a line lock. Line lock is huge in doing a burnout with ease on an m6. That was 7 years ago.

Thanks man! I bought an SLP lid the other night too. I wanna do back to back runs with the FTP 104mm lid on and then the SLP.

Side note: I have the this song stuck in my head today. I keep picturing myself pulling up to the burn out pit with it playing lol

Good luck tonight. Between work and a bit of a chance for rain, don't think I'm gonna be able to make it - at least that'll guarantee the rain will hold off for you. lol. Go get that 11 second time slip.

Lol good luck man! I think you'll get you're 11 second timeslip tonight

I went last night but it was colder than it had been. I had to drop the tire pressure 3.5psi and do longer burnouts, but still couldn't launch over 2000rpms. Keep us posted and let us know when you get that slip.

Just couldn't get it done, but man is that line lock a blast! I wasn't the only person having trouble hooking up. One thing I learned is my car does not like to be launched below 3k. I did a 5k launch and it was awesome! Spun the tires bad and first gear hit the rev limiter but I still 60'ed 2ish lol.

I've come to the conclusion that my nittos are shot. That's most likely my next thing to change. I just don't know what tire to choose.

I'll post a video later.

Thanks for the support guys!

With a M6 a bias ply tire will hook best. You're leaving a lot on the table with your 60' times. Also even a conservative attempt at power shifting will make a big improvement in ET.
Props for being out there giving 'em hell

Man that bites, I was hoping you'd get it tonight too. Just got off work and checked to see how you did. My tires are shot now too, I'm thinking about getting et streets this time. You definitely have 11's though man, I had 4 more 11.80's last night all in the 116's so your mph is there for sure. When are you going to get tires?

Thanks guys. The track was like ice tonight. Lots of people breaking down too. I raced a new vette and complete yanked it! It was fun.

Tires will be soon. Im sure the low 50 deg temp wasn't helping any but I know the current tire won't 60.
