Yup, when you see the cutout there is one in two out. One of the out sides has a servo motor that opens and closes a block off plate in the pipe. The other out side is a straight shot that would be welded to your cat back.
If you look at the link I sent ya the pipe side with the motor on it is the open exhaust and stays as is. The other two sides get welded in wherever you want if that made sense

It's remote controlled also instead of a switch. Which I like better

That's nice, I really like that! I bet it sounds pretty awesome when it opens too lol. I never get to hear the difference on mine but I bet it will bring a smile. It says something about having to customize it? Does it slip over the existing pipe and then weld on?

I appreciate all the input from you guys because I think it's the 1500rpm launch and the plate that did it along with better air.
Good deal man...keep playing with the launch rpm. I knew that car had more in it! Some gears and -DA and you'll be mid 11's. Then hit her with some juice

Do you guys know what section I need to go to so I can ask questions about turbo or heads and cam? I have no idea how, but the wife has said that I can do another upgrade within reason, price wise lol. So I'm either going to run boost and keep the heads and gears I have now, or buy heads and gears. I'm just afraid that the 40-50rwhp from the heads won't be enough for what I want and wanted to get some opinions on what turbo setups and heads to look at.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for with gears. Do you think that with heads I could break into the 10's with gears? If so, what heads without breaking bank?

You can spray the crap out of it for what a good set of heads will set you back.

nice job ! everything on your time slip is starting to look good , 60 foot ,et , trap your getting it done.

To those late to the thread that didn't read the beginning this car has 273 gears bolt ons and a cam , especially impressed with the 1.7 60 foots with 273's and a 3600 stall imagine what it would do if you did the one free re stall up to 4k....

Thanks man.

I was actually just talking to the wife about my re stall if I went turbo. I've got the bug and want to break into the 10's now. The guy in that 5.0 I ran said he picked up .4 tenths from going from a 3200 to a 4000 stall with his slicks and skinnies up front.

I don't really want to spray it just yet.....but I've been thinking about it.

You can send your heads out to Advanced Induction to be ported for around 1200$. I've heard they are one of the best for the money.

Yeah I've been looking at AI for a while now, but I only have 241 heads and idk how those would be compared to a set of 243's? I was looking at their trick flow 215's but I think those were like $2700 or something. Right now my car is unfortunately a daily driver and I think the turn around on his heads are 4-6 weeks. So I may try to find a good set of used 243's to send off.

I'm really up in the air on what to do as far as going FI or just heads and gears. I'll need injectors either way I'm pretty sure. The boost route is going to cost more right now up front, but will be more bang for the buck later and make a lot more power. My buddy has a boosted LS1 and it's just a different animal compared to mine. Mine feels really slow compared to it lol.

Good luck at the track tonight if it doesn't get rained out. I'm going to go to midnight madness at ours tonight if it doesn't get rained out too so I can play around with some different launches. But it's going to be about 10 deg hotter than before, plus more humidity so idk what to expect.

Something to keep in mind also, with you still being on the stock 10 bolt the faster you go the more fragile it becomes

I have some 853's for $125 (w/valves, no springs) or some 243's (complete) for $400 if you want.

Sounds like you did your homework.

For me I want the best heads I can get and if that means holding off for a year to save up then that's what I'm going to do. I've learned that it will pay off in the end. Picking the right heads for your cam is important. As far as FI, I'm not a fan. Thats just me. I love being N/A

That's kind of another reason I was thinking going turbo. Because I can keep my 2.73 gears and stock heads for now. I'm not sure, but I think since my car only has 19k on it I can't run as much boost yet, but idk.

I agree! I love the sound and the rawness of being n/a! But I'm looking at roughly 30-60rwhp depending on what heads I get and who does the work. I'm not sure if I'll be happy with that lol. Plus, when boost kicks in it's insane. Here's a video of my buddies doing a 40 pull. The silver car is on low boost 10psi (he's 14psi now) and he's running a car that runs better than mine. He totally raped him lol
I'm just not sure what to do yet, I only told the wife it would be between $2500-$3000 and both will be more lol

What kind of shape and mileage are the 243's? I think I saw them in the classifieds a while back possibly? I'll have to see what route I'm going so I know for clearances and such for if I get the heads worked by ai.

Well, if I can't get close to high high 10's or real low 11's then I just may do that lol. I've been talking to Texas Speed for the last two days and until I decide to go bigger than 346ci I think that the prc 225's will be so close in power with anything else out there at 600 lift where my cam is that it is by far the best bang for the buck. So I'm getting ready to order prc as 225 heads, trunion upgrade, injectors, and put a rear with 3.42's along with chris1313 next week. So I'm really hoping that it puts me where I want to be this fall when the temps cool back down.
