I'm in the 12's!!! I bought my 2001 Z28 6 speed at the beginning of this summer. Ran around 13.8 at 104.7 stock on a 80 degree night in Phoenix at 1250 foot of altitude. Since then added headers, a 224 cam, and a cutout. Ran 13.4 at 110 on a 90 degree night. Finally got a nice cool night (60F) with the barometer above 30 at Firebird Raceway tonight (1250 feet of altitude). Best time was 12.929 seconds, best mph was 111.01. My 60's on this car have never been better than 2.3 until tonight. Got down to a 2.07 on the last run. Best times: R/T: -.004 (red light, but it was so close) 60 foot: 2.070 330: 5.556 1/8: 8.432 1/8: 85.51 mph 1000: 10.865 1/4: 12.929 MPH: 111.01 I'm hitting the rev limiter that is set at 6650 in third gear before the lights. So I shifted the last run and slowed down to 109.88. Think I'll up the rev limiter to 6800 rpm in 3rd gear only. I also bought a Harlan shift light but haven't put it in yet. I know I was shifting too early tonight because I was trying to anticipate the slow tach. By the way, the corrected run for sea level is 12.76 at 112.52 mph. Wish we had a sea level track somewhere close. |
