Default Dynoed the 12's

dyno numbers for the 1/4 mile run

1.723---------------60'
5.040--------------330'
7.892--------------8th
10.367------------1000'
12.471-------------1/4

Snow on the ground, kinda makes it hard to get this thing to the track.....

HP and TQ numbers were embarrassingly low. 288.9rwhp(274.8 corrected)@5698rpm and 287.1rwtq(273.3 corrected) unlocked. I don't have my tranny cooler on yet so I didn't want to lock it just for numbers. It's my DD and it needs to run!!! The dyno is proven to be within 1-2 tenths correct to track, so I'll have to wait til the snow melts and the track opens to prove it on the street.

Notable mods for the time are Jet Hot LT's/Y, E-brock catback(hurting perf.), FloPac-smooth bellows, 3600 Vig. stall, dynotuned.

Last year on a bad track day and my first appearance, it ran 13.5-13.6 before those mods. Can't wait to get the slips vs. the dyno run paper.

You can't "dyno" an ET.

You can guess but you aren't in the 12's yet

I wasnt saying you wont run 12's, I'm saying the 1/4 mile dyno runs are BS, I have seen them too and they are usually way quicker than the "real world". Lighten up it's the internet

This is his sig...'01 Z, A4, 3.23's
Mods: Jet Hot Headers/Y, Edelbrock catback, !AIR, SLP cold air box, K&N, MTI lid, TB bypass, descreened MAF, Vigilante 3600, Taylor wires, NGK plugs, Sphon SFC's/STB, SS rims, blackouts, billet grill, Alpine HU/amps/speakers, Stealthbox.

Is it possible for all those mods to only put you at 288rwhp/287rwtq? That's got to be a mistake right? And is there any way 288hp will put you at a 12.4 1/4?

No way a 1/4 dyno run can hold any water. I used to hang with a bunch of kids who had all kinds of cars and there was sooo much BS talking. We all took a trip to the track and were all quickly humbled. Saying you shud get 12's and actually getting them are two different things

Reasons for the low numbers is running an unlocked converter on a Mustang dyno and cutting the run off at about 5700 instead of 6200, the curve is still going up at about 45*. If I locked it, I would have been well into the 300's, but I'm not going to toast my tranny for a dyno number. I know it will be slower in the 1/4 than the dyno shows because I won't be strapping my rearend down to the track. If it's a HALF SEC. slower, I'm still running twelves!

I'm just wondering why everyone thinks I'll be running 13's with my mods. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. I'm not asking for the precious title change, I was just posting my dyno results so people can see what the car's done with the mods. Once the track opens up in March, I'll post the REAL timeslips. Same mods, so you can see the differences.

I didn't think you should run 13s with those mods. That is why I was confused, but now I understand why it dynoed low. You should definately run it into the mid 12s with those mods, provided a good launch. Sorry about the confusion.

There is no reason you shouldn't be in the 12's however to say you "dyno'ed the 12's" is well...just odd lol

I just hope the track is properly treated. I run at Capitol Raceway and it's kind of crappy. I was thinking of hitting MIR because they have a better, stickier track. Still have about a month to go til it opens.

GOOD LUCK!
got 317+ RWHP and best was 13.47. . .
If you've got 288 I don't see you better than 13.25 IF you have aftermarket suspension (LCA/TA), so DYNO all you want. Track is where you put your money and where your talking pays off!

He was on a mustang dyno, which dyno's lower than other dyno's, and they weren't taking it to redline. That is why his numbers are low. Look at his sig. He should make it into 12's no problem.

I had similar results on a mustang dyno. I dynoed at 333hp and 293 torque. I also have a 3600 vig and I ran a 11.9 on the 1/4 simulator on the dyno. I do think the dyno is a bit quicker then the track. My tuner told me I was spinning the tires off the line on it. Also he told me that with a stall converter like mine I should lose about 40hp on the dyno and they proved that right becasue that next week they dynoed a car with the same mods as me with a stick and got about 380hp.

just a stall and exhaust would get him mid 12s, given he can hook.

i see a 12 for him.
