will the 10bolt hold up
I have a 99 SS m6 and i was thinking about putting 4.10's in my car. my question is i'll be going to the track a few times a year. and i was wondering if the 10 bolt will hold up under about 360 rwhp/tq on street tires or possible drag radials. If it won't then i won't waste my money putting in the gears if the rear end is just gonna go anyway.
help me out.
help me out.

My 10 bolt was fine with Full bolt on's, 4.10s and nittos, but it broke right away when I put the MT Drag Radials, cam, and the bottle on On the nittos I was cutting low 1.8 60fts and running 12.1s in the 1/4.

A friend of mine who makes less power than you, but same gears, and probably lighter weight, broke the **** outta his twice, then upgraded to a nine-inch. It only lasted 7 passes on Nittos the 2nd time.
On the other hand, you have my car, with over 200 passes down the 1320, stock rear except for a gear swap, and the rear is still holding up fine. Have cut a few 1.6's, along with tons of 1.7's, and I haven't seen past a 1.8 in a while. I am, however, an automatic.
The key is low vehicle weight, eliminating wheel-hop, and in your case, an easier launch. Keep these three things in mind, and I think you'll be okay, or you could **** the rear playing around on the street tomorrow, you just never know with these rears.

Yeah im a little afraid of that rear end going cuz this is my daily driver, although it does only have 26K on her. i was hoping the 10bolt would hold up. my buddy is running mt et's with a stack of slips a foot high and not problems, but idk its a auto though without a stall. hey man your cuttin some kick *** times with your mods. Juice'd? how do you like those true duals? i have the same setup with pacesetter longtubes that im putting on this weekend. did it make good power? any vids?

So far so good here. I have around 20 track passes on my 10 bolt since the 4.10s with Nitto DRs. Countless WOT passes on the street and I have a kickass clutch that results in 1-2, 2-3, AND 3-4 chirps with the DRs.
There's no telling how many passes I made with the 3.42s, this thing has held up to whatever I have thrown at it the last 16,500 miles that I have had it, plus the 25.5k while it was stock before I got it
It may blow tomorrow, but then again I might take this thing into the 10s

I would just get a new rear, I have seen too many people with 6speed f-bods break their rears with abuse. I have even heard of stock power fbods breaking their stock 10 bolt. Just do the rear and get it over with

I made about 20-30 passes with most bolt-ons but the stocker only lasted 3 passes with heads and cam. It was on it's way out already though, making noise constantly.
On the other hand - I still drove it home all torn up (about 10 miles) and a junk yard rear was $300 complete... in case you were wondering.
