Default Switch from DRs to ET Streets puts me in.

After several weeks stuck at 13.0x, I now have six consecutive runs below 13 seconds with a best of 12.75. Switching from MT 275/50/R15 DRs to 26x10.5-15 ET Streets did the trick. My sixtys were very inconsistent (1.9 to 2.3) with DRs – I tried both BFGs and MTs between 24 and 16 psi. My first run on the ET Streets yielded a 1.85 sixty and a 12.92 ET. I’m still experimenting. I expect 1.7 sixtys soon.

Are you gonna do headers soon? You would probably get another 3 tenths off with headers and a tune.

I think I understand the big improvement. A good driver could get my car into the twelves on the original GSC Eagles – I could not. I will never be able to slip the clutch and keep my reaction time below 0.2 seconds. Therefore, I need to dump the clutch. Dumping the clutch necessarily causes wheelspin. The ET Streets definitely produce more effective thrust when spinning than do DRs (With DRs it is very easy for me to spin to a 2.3 sixty. With the ET Streets my worst sixty is 1.9) ET Streets also respond more predictably to changes in inflation pressure than DRs. Bottom line – it takes less skill to launch an M6 with ET Streets than with DRs.
