Made the 12's

Today I ran at the track and my first run hooked good but missed third and fourth I got a 12.97@98.97.

Second run missed fourth again and ran a 12.87@105.58

Third run was horrible, no traction through second and missed fourth again!! :bang: 14.83@101.44

Foruth run, still no traction on take off but manged to get through all the gears :) 13.24@113.21

Last and final run, still no traction and missed fourth :bang: 12.9@101.35

I have no idea why i cant get the gears to go but if I can get that and some good traction, I think I can hit mid to low 12s. This was all on BFG KDWs. The track wasnt helping any either cuz the humidity was starting to settle in. But not making any excuses. I guess I just need a hell of alot more practice. :jest:

What do you all think??

tell us your mods and we can help.

are your gears grinding, or just hard to get in.

if hard to get in, you may need to chnage yoru master cylinder fluid and maybe your friction disc is worn badly.. time for a new clutch?

Ok.

Engine: Hotcam, LS6 heads, new lifters and all valvetrain upgrade.
Exhaust: Pacesetter LTs, ORY, and hooker muffler.
Intake: Ported TB and lid.
Suspension: 1LE swaybars/poly endlinks, BMR LCAs with adjustable panhardbar, relocation brackets, eibach springs sportlines up front and prokit in rear.
Tranny was rebuilt when it had 66k miles in Nov04. I replaced the clutch with another LS6 clutch kit back in Sep04 with 64k miles. Its got the stock hurst shifter and short stick.

I think that is about it. I think it might be time for a new clutch. Im starting to get some rattling while im idleing. Normal driving I can get through all the gears fine. Its just those high RPMs is when its struggling. Its was grinding when I was trying to get into 3rd an 4th.

Congrats, time for a new clutch it sounds like.

Alex, I have the same problem but sounds like yours is worse. Have you done the mc drill mod yet? If not do it and drain out all the old dirty fluid while your in there and bleed it like wildfire.
My problem is the same, I'm losing hydraulic pressure towards the end of the runs @ high rpms unless I shift real easy. I'm gonna do mine this week so I'll let you know the results.

Russ, I will see when i can get the car up in the air and do it but let me know how it goes for you. I was getting pissed when it was happening. :bang:

You can run 11s. No if, and or buts. what are your 60's like? Try and get a 1.8 flat or even a 1.7 and for sure 11s are obtainable. you probably need slicks, or even just drag radials

Well, I think my clutch is fried and needs some tending to. I will get that fixed and see what she does after that. Im also going to try to get a set of slicks....

I wouldn't put slicks on unless you have a built 12 bolt or 9 inch. I have Mickey Thompson Drag Radials and they grip awesome. But with BFG KDWs you are gonna be slipping and sliding everywhere. BTW I think I may of saw your car on perrin bitel a couple of days ago.
