Ran 8.8 @83?? Want 12's!!

I ran my 00Z for the first time this weekend. The car is stock, A4, 3.23, with an airlid and a terrible flowmaster muffler. I ran 8.8 @83.7 with a 2.2 60ft. What should I do to get in the 12's. The car is my DD and I am looking for boltons. I would prefer not to run nitrous. When I say 12's I'm thinking high 12's! I was thinking gears, maybe new control arms. What else do you guys suggest?

A stall and ported throttle body will help out, as well as drag radials.

My 2001 Z28 had Pacesetter headers with their offroad y-pipe, SLP lid, and a tune. On street tires with 2.73 gears, my car ran consistant 12.90s @ 108mph.

60ft times??

What would be a great 60ft time on street tires? I would hope I can do better than my 2.2, but what is realistic?

3600 stall. lid with k&n. longtube headers. mt et radials. stock 3.23 gears, full weight. 8.0-8.1 all night long... = mid 12s

1.8-1.9 60' were pulled on 18"x10.5" BFG street KDWs.

lca relocation brackets, m/t et street radials. 'nough said.

get a 3500+ stall, longtubes, tires, and a tune. you should be mid-low 12s (7.9-7.7 1/8) all day.

my best 1/8 mile pass with a few bolt-ons was 7.68 @ 88.

With lid, K & N, flowmaster catback, a tune and M/T sticky tires, I got 12.90s at 107 mph from my '00 Formula with 3.23 gears. A converter will pick you up a bunch but watch the tranny life if you race a bunch! You'll need 8.30s to crack the 12s in the 1/4-mile.

Yank converter?

I am looking into getting a Yank Stealth 3000. Do you think this would be enough, if I could hook up? Do I need to look into suspension parts. This car is my DD and I think this converter would be ok??

BryanJohnson Apr 26, 2007 10:08 AM

it would be good, just make sure its enough converter if you plan on a future cam

My best 60' with Goodyear F1's and stock converter is 1.95

i used to cut 1.9 60fts on street tires easy. 1.7s on street tires with the stall. i;m still only running 83mph in the 1/8th but that got me a 12.99 run not letting it rev all the way. mods in sig...
