12's possible??

Well i just bought a auto 99z28 with 87,300 miles on it..The mods are long tubes, o/r y pipe, slp catback, slp intake, and a big stall ( not sure what size ) ..But what do you guys think it will run? Possibly 12's?

What gears!, what size stall! with those mods ,12's should not be a problem! You will need drag radials!

Agreed. With those mods then not a problem at all. Just get some DR's and hook and perhaps get some mid 12's.

Im not sure what size stall..I believe stock gears..When it shifts to 2nd its around 40-45mph..I just recently totaled my 97 cobra which ran 13.4 @ 107 and the z28 feels a lot stronger than that...

Yeah you should definitely be in the 12s.

What do you guys think it will trap??

02NBMFormula Jul 29, 2007 10:52 AM

best guess is 108, maybe 109.

you should be mid 12's if you get a good launch

crazboy99 Jul 29, 2007 10:13 PM

take it to the track and find out...noone here can tell you for sure what you will run...its almost like beating a dead horse...there are too many variables to tell what you will run...

Im getting 13.1 with my mods so with the stall you should get into the 12s. Ill find out how big the stall is for you the previous owner said the only thing you need is traction so that means you got the power just need to get it to the ground.

Well i got the stall replaced to a stock one..The old stall was a tsi 3500..Do you think this will hurt my times a lot? I dont really care all that much about trap times as i dont do many dig races..I want it to be fast from a roll..Ive heard that having a stall will actually hurt the trap speeds? Or will a car with a stall pull harder all over wether from a dig or a roll?

Drag Radials and a nice stall, your set...
