Bolt on A4 in the 12's

Finally got to take my car and make some runs. We loaded up the ET streets and floor jack and drove 4 hours to Thunder Valley in Noble, Oklahoma. I was hoping to run in the 12's with bolt ons, exhaust and convertor with stock engine and stock suspension. There were a ton of cars and bikes at the track so only got to make 3 runs.

1st run:
60' 1.776
1/8 8.003
1/8 mph 85.94
1/4 12.549
mph 108.44

2nd run:
60' 1.788
1/8 8.007
1/8 mph 85.93
1/4 12.549
mph 108.64

3rd run:
60' 1.793
1/8 7.969
1/8 mph 86.50
1/4 12.477
mph 109.47

Overall, I was happy with how the car ran and how consistent the runs were for the first time out. Hoping to go back to Noble in November and run in the 11's with a 100 shot. It was kinda cool taking a road trip in the car and I'm looking forward to next time but those 8 hour roundtrips make for a LONG day! Could I get a title change?

nice times man...i would be happy with that...stock weight?

slobird Oct 21, 2007 10:22 PM

Yes, the car is stock weight and it is a nice 25K mile car so I don't want to get too crazy with the weight reduction stuff. Thinking about a tubular k member, front skinnies and taking off the sway bar to see if it would help the times some. I don't know how my times compare to other similar cars but it was really better than I expected. Have you ran your car at the track?

SuperZ Oct 22, 2007 09:51 AM

Yeah 12.4 is a great time for a stock weight bolt on car.
After a few more things you will be in the 11s all motor!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice runs man, especially at that shit hole track! It's almost never prepped right, people constantly break, spraying fluid all over it, and making for a long night in the staging lanes. There is a MUCH nicer track in Tulsa and for you it would only tack another hour, maybe an hour and a half onto your drive.

SuperZ Oct 22, 2007 06:44 PM

I keep hearing about the Tulsa track and how nice it is.Noble does always have really long wait times in the staging lanes. We were there 4.5 hours and only got 3 runs in.

Could I get a title change please?

Omega Doom Nov 2, 2007 05:25 PM

congrats! and yea just a tweak here and there and you should get 11's on motor alone!:D

Very nice times. I used to have a maple red t/a. I wish I kept it, its the best color on the t/a imo.

SSlow1 Nov 6, 2007 11:48 AM

Nice times .......I'm shooting for the 11's now ........car's at Race Proven Motorsports as we speak getting a 3200 vig stall and some BMR to the ass end ;)

SSlow1 Nov 6, 2007 11:50 AM

Thanks, I agree, maple red is a great color on the TA. I looked for a long time and finally found the car in Houston. I hope to get to the track one more time before winter and see what it will run with the 100 shot, hoping for 11's. May go with a cam, 5.3 heads and a Fast 90 over the winter and build up the 4L60e!!

We went back to Thunder Valley on Sunday 11/18 and with the same setup my car ran a best of: 60ft: 1.768
1/8: 7.935
1/8 mph: 86.38
1/4: 12.456
mph: 109.17

Also, I made one run with NX 100 shot and ran pretty good!
60ft: 1.681
1/8: 7.466
1/8 mph: 92.69
1/4: 11.645
mph: 118.23
Accomplished my goals of 12's all motor, full weight, stock suspension with bolt ons and convertor and 11's with a 100 shot. I have had a blast with this car and can't wait 'til next season, can't decide about which mods to do next. Any ideas?

nice runs! thunder valley isnt all that bad, every time ive been there it was prepped correctly.... i used to live in noble but moved to cali a couple months ago

slobird Nov 19, 2007 04:50 PM

No complaints about Thunder Valley from me. The track prep was good and my car dead hooked on every run. The track crew always treats us very well. The only bad part is driving 8 hours roundtrip from Amarillo!

wow great times

KC Henry Nov 19, 2007 06:59 PM

Great times. You have a setup very similar to mine, and your times are almost identical as well.

Congrats man! :thumb: I started with a little weight reduction here and there with my bolton car, and now I am at 2925

chrs1313 Nov 20, 2007 02:55 PM

nice times...especially for full weight...i was in the same boat as you with 29K...then the weight reduction bug hit...i was fully diagnosed when i decided to pull the ac
