Default Whats a "tune"

When you guys talk about a tune, are you referring to dyno time or laptop/program stuff? Is this something like a preditor tuner? My buddy has a preditor but thinks it is lock to his old vin. Don't even know if its worth anything..

Predator will adjust the computer settings for you, but the 'tune' is in fact the use of a computer/laptop to adjust the computer settings with ALOT more versatility. Some tuners have the ability to lock your computer like you mention, but most won't.

A Predator tune is basically a generic tune for a generic setup, while a dyno tune will be a custom tune for your specific car/setup. A dyno tune is 100% recommended if you have the means, and it pretty much required if you have any type of internal work done.

And yeah, this is definitely in the wrong section, haha. A mod may move it on you, just so you know.

Predator sucks, Period. Get a tune from a reputable shop & one that does a street tune, not just a Dyno tune. They will use a laptop and a program like LS1 Edit, EFI Live, HP Tunners. Cost is about $500, but well worth it. Retunes for more mods are either free or cheap normally.

If you can carry one, you might be a pop star one day

As mentioned above a tune is adjusting from the "factory settings" to something unique to your car and modifications. Even a tune to a stock car can untap performance, mpg and better driveability over a standard Hypertech or Predator.
