Default TD people with lowered cars - would you do it again?

For those of you that have cars with true duals, and are lowered (especially if you're using the strano springs) - would you do it again? Is the scraping worth it, or would you have gone with a catback system to get it to tuck closer?

I've read most of the posts on this from the forum, but never saw a poll to see if those who've had them would stick with it or not.

My car isn't a DD, but I do like being able to take it places that sometimes have speed bumps and all.

I have my car lowered with Stranos and have Trual Duals with 1 chamber flows dumped before the rear axel. I have done it on both cars I have had and love it. You can still go over speed bumps, inclined driveways, dips, you just have to use some common sense and go slow and at the right angle.

Here is a pic for reference and to show the clearance (not a very good pic).

I built a custom TD setup and it tucks really well. I did do some sectioning work to the passenger floor board though.

I'm lowered on Eibachs and have true duals over the axle. It's the only way to roll, no regrets.

I Think This Is One Of The Nicest TD Setups I've Ever Seen. It's A Custom Setup But If You Have A Good Exhaust Guy Around Maybe You Could Get This Done Also. It Tucks Up Nice And Looks Super Clean...
It Was Promod1955's

i had TDs first...then lowered (bmr 1.2" springs).

i'd do it again, but i would do it differently.

3" pipes and full size magnaflow 4x9s are what's on it now. mufflers are the lowest part, at just shy of 2.5" of clearance.

if i were to do it again i would use 2.5" pipe, and probably run some long chambered mufflers tucked up in the trans tunnel (found some that have an outer case dia of 3") and dumped.
if $$ fell from the sky...i'd go side by side out the back

here are pics of my setup currently.

i think the front wheels were on a 2x4 for this one...but gets the idea of clearance looking back.

I have 3 in duals with through "mufflers" (basicly straight pipe lol). my lowest part is the driverside where i comes off the header and has to go down to clear the frame. I cut 1 coil off all the way around and its worth about an 1 in. i love having it lowered with the duals, however mines not a DD its just a toy it might be different if i was a DD but thats what my truck is for. but when im driving i have to be careful where i drive cuz i live in a smaller town and we have some sh!tty roads in places. the real secret is angles if you take it slow and go at a good angle usually you can clear most everything you will encounter. the only time i have scraped is when i went over a dip that i didnt see doing 50 and i knocked one of my hangers loose. simple fix.

yeah, based on emissions I have to go over axle to have the stock dump location - that doesn't bother me, as I prefer that look anyway.

and it's totally a toy only. I have a jeep and a bike for daily driving.

I have thought about doing TD's myself. I wonder how much oval piping would help. I have always wanted to see someone do that.

for me its not the pipes that make the clearance issue...its the mufflers.

i needed more muffler than a bullet...so the magnaflow 4x9s worked well. keeps sound at a very managable level (for me, with wife and the cops). downside is clearance.
