AES 390ci - Now with Callies Dragonslayer crankshaft

With some success from our proven 390ci force induction engine combination we're working
with Callies on introducing Dragonslayer crankshaft as an option.

Also Callies Ultra Forged rods are available too.

Current price list - updated 5/03/2012

Original 390ci = SOLD OUT
6.0 Block
Callies Compstar H-beam rods
Callies C-Series 5140 3.825" crank
ARP main studs

New 390ci = $4695
6.0 Block
Callies Compstar H-beam rods
Callies Dragonslayer 3.800" crank

New 390ci = $5495
6.0 Block
Callies Ultra billet rods
Callies Dragonslayer 3.800" crank

LSX block

Piston coating ceramic top/moly skirt $290
Calico Coated main rod and camshaft bearings $150
Machine block for 1/2" head studs $550

Price sounds steep however 2000hp capable with LSX block

Heres a pic of the new Ultra Billet rods, $1350 for a set of them.

Results in a stronger piston using the shorter stroke, shorter stroke has more journal overlap,
1/10" more journal overlap then 4.000" crank.

journal overlap? Stronger piston because you don't have to move the pin as far?

Can the 6.0 Iron block handle 2000 hp ? It's $ 6995.00 with LSX.

I know the Iron can handle 1000 hp.

Overlap is considered an important factor of crankshaft strength, hence why GM made "400 main" vs. "350 main" when they increased the crankshaft stroke for 400 SBC. This picture should better explain.

No,

Compression height dictates the real estate available for the ring lands. As you shorten compression height rings are supported by less material, top ring land generally is compensated to be thinner. Thinner top land any extra heat applied to the piston (detonation) will cause the aluminum to contract.

Thicker top ring land is able to absorb the heat, less chances of cracking or affecting the structure of the piston.

This cylinder had 44% leak down

I know the Iron can handle 1000 hp.

LSX block or other aftermarket block for over 1200hp

That $6995 I tried to make apparent GMPP LSX block.

6.0 with same parts $5150

LSX block is $1845 upgrade

That comprises of LSX Block, we hone the cam tunnel on LSX, it does need more boring time, we can eat it for a sale if someone wants to step it up.
