Default Supercharger or Turbo? 98 Ls1 Vette 6spd

I have always been a fan of superchargers, but some people are telling me to go with a turbo kit instead. I thought I would post this thread to here to get a little hinsight? Thanks

turbo = morepower
supercharger = weaksauce

but thats just my opinion, as the fastest ls1 right now has a supercharger on it, but later this year i picture a turbo taking that title away.

This is a forced induction board but notice how 80% of the posts are about turbos? Supercharger, easy to install but limited on power output and it takes 1-2 PSI to make up for turning the compressor.
Turbo uses existing exhaust pressure rather then turning a compressor with a belt. The exhaust restriction from the turbo affects the motor much less then the drag induced by using the crank to turn a compressor.

STS= all the good things of a turbo with an easy install. C5 kit coming out spring time.

The decision between a turbo and a supercharger really comes down to your goals with the car and the size of your wallet. Both setups are capable of working very well provided they were installed properly with all of the supporting mods (fuel, drive line, etc).

Turbo all the way. The feeling as the turbo spools up is the best IMO!

i ran a d1sc at 10 psi with a 230/234 600 lift cam on a 114 and got 629hp 570 tq at 6800 w/ 24 degrees timing

I ran the gt70 sts at 10 psi with a 220/226 561 lift cam on a 115 and got 639hp and 615 tq at 4500 with 16 degrees timing

Also it idles at 700, its quiet, and its a blast with the turbo, completely different feeling then the SC
