why is this site so slow lately
Brains is busting his *** to get the site speed back up to par, but he's had to basically write a new database interface - on top of daily maintenance. Considering thats not his normal job - props to Brains.
We know the speed/performance is down lately - we usually know before you do. We're workin on it - when I say we, I mean Brains mostly - as its a one-man operation. So give it some time and relax. The site will still be here after 20-30 seconds to load a page - on a slow day. If you don't have patience for that, then maybe you need to take up yoga or muscle relaxants.

Maybe im doing somthing wrong cause i cant get into any threads it takes me about 1min 30 sec any suggestions?

We have "suffered" a hard disk failure in one of our three hosting servers. The machine at this moment is still online and operational, however I'm sure it will need to be power cycled to replace the drive (even though I'm pretty sure its a hot-swappable drive). This is being done remotely for us by the hosting firm, and I'm not sure on their timeframe for replacement.
So what does this mean to you? If you can't get to the site, its because you're hitting that particular server. For most, it'll be too late - you'll read this after-the-fact. But for the slight chance some of you see this ahead of time, and experience a server not being available, try one of the other two:

The server affected is www2, and it isn't the machine's primary drive either -- the failed drive is used as a hot backup drive, and is non-critical. We expect any potential outage to be short.

Actually the server has already had the hard drive replaced and is back online, that hard drive like you said it was a hot backup drive so it didn't really affect performance all that much.
