New Fog lights on My Z.. (pics)

New Fog lights on My Z.. (pics) I figured I'd post this up for all those that have issues with the junk factory fogs on the Camaros. My passenger side one started to literally fill with water when I'd drive in the rain. I pulled them out a coule weeks ago and started looking for replacements that are not Cheap all plastic junk Fog lights. well I look at dimensions of all kinds of good fog lights and found out Hella Micro DE fog lights are an ALMOST direct replacement for the stockers using the stock Brackets!
side view.. Micro DE on the Left Stock on the right. you can see the one corner of the factory bracket that I had to cut a bit off to clear the mounting tab on the Hella Fog light.
top View.. I had to remove the factory Adjustment screw. It just pops out and since the Hella Fog light is actualy an alloy case the screws that hold it are plenty tight enough to keep it aimed.
Finished fornt view and Installed on the car.
I used the wiring that came with the Hella fogs but taped into the factory fog light switch to turn them on and off. Final result.. well they look like stock off but man they are much brighter than stock.. Now with my Catz 5.5" Driving lights and these Hella fog lights I don't think I'll ever have to worry about not having enough light in any condition.

The beam is nice and controlled and put out a lot more light than stock. They are 55w each rather than 27w like the stockers. actually they put out just as much light as the headlights. I can really tell when they are on unlike the stock fog lights.
I got them on Amazon.com one of the merchants was selling a set of them open box for $100. usually they are around $120-150. You can get them all over the place online. Here is a link to Hella's site for more info.

They also Make these lights with a driving light beam in HID xenon (They are $600 though) Now those should put out some serious light. When I have access to a camera again I'll take a couple pics of the beam from inside the car.

just the Hella Fog Lights..
Now the headlights with the Fog lights... (These are standard headlight bulbs too. the Fog lights have a more bluish tint)
And them my Madman Setting.. Hella Fogs, Headlights, and my Catz Driving lights forced on with the switch (I have the Driving lights (yellow 85w each) wired to come on automatically with the high Beams.)

thanks guys! I tried taking some pics but the camera doesn't like taking pics like this. Its an old camera. It doens't show much difference in the lights color output but you can for sure tell the fogs are brighter than the stock fog lights.
Usually I have a billet grille on the car but I pulled it off to clean it and am thinking of having it powder coated.

Thanks for the front pics, looks really good! You said you have brighter day time running lights. How bright are they? How much did those bulbs cost? Have any problems with it melting the housing?
