What safety equipment is needed to run a low 11 or a high 10??
.......................What are they going to check on the car after i run a pass like that? I have got a pst driveshaft, but I don't know if they will check for a loop or not...............Also what is the requirments as far as rollbars.................where is the best place to get one?thanks
using the words "roll bar" and you'll find the info usually. Here's the 411:
If the floorpan/frame has been modified (only exception is mini-tub or full tub without hacking frame rails or cutting floor forward of driver seat) you need an 8-point cage.
Otherwise, from 11.49 to 10.00 (NHRA rules) on a hardtop/t-top car you need:
-5-point roll bar (driver-side door bar only required, but most put pass side as well to reduce flexing and increase stiffness, and yes it can be a swing out).
-5-point harness with center crotch strap
-Snell 2000 or newer helmet (required 13.99 and quicker)
-driveshaft safety loop no more than 6 inches behind the rear of the transmission (automatically required with slicks at any e.t.)
-fire jacket (single layer)
-Battery cut-off in back if battery has been relocated, and battery must use bolt-in retention device (not j-hooks or a seatbelt to hold to tray). Must be in a vented box (but a lot of tracks don't enforce this rule).
-Aftermarket axles 10.99 and quicker (with c-clip eliminators or a positive way to lock in the axles on non-GM rearends).
-Transmission blanket or shield 10.99 and quicker
-SFI-approved balancer and flywheel/flexplate
-long studs with open lugs (check out NHRA's website www.nhra.com for the exact description on what length/engaugement is needed).
I've also possibly forgotten a few things...

What is the reason for that?
is this refering to the balancer on the front of the crank?
the ASP is SFI approved i know.i have 1 more question
. is the BMR battery tray that bolts to the subframe in the spare tire area approved? i don't have a cutoff switch either but i was just wandering. Derek
A battery mounted in the rear of the car must have a cutoff switch (the cutoff switch must shut the car down, so usually the alternator must be run through the switch as well), be held down with bolts/sutds (no straps, belts or j-hooks), as well as be in a vented box (but some tracks don't really enforce this).
