Slotted Rotors Worth The money??
I am thinking about going with the $170 rotors on WS6 Store. I would go with slotted because i hear that drilled are more prone to cracking. The rotors on my car right now are warped and pads are pretty gone. So my question is, is it worth my money to buy those rotors and hawk pads? Or should i just machine my rotors and put the hawk pads on, i can do machine the rotors myself at school for free.

I was having the same question, my rotors are warped and I saw those on ws6store. But I found some blanks that are OEM for 134$. Does that sound like a deal and using Hawk pads? Atleast for the time being.

Drilled and slotted are BOTH more prone to cracking than a solid rotor. If you are worried about cracking then just get Brembo blanks. If you want looks, don't drive your car very hard, and don't care if they crack go with drilled or slotted.
I would definitely get rid of the stockers....you can turn them and they will just warp again. The Hawk HPS are good street pads.

I have been happy with my Powerslot rotors. I really don't know that the slots help or not but they have been through 25,000 miles, a set of ceramic pads, and 3 High Performance Driving events with no problems.

I think I'm gonna go with a slotted/dimpled rotor when I change mine... just make sure whatever you get, that the rotors are made with the slots/dimples/holes in them, for extra strength.

A lot of people associate weak with the stockers because they are a solid piece....that is because the stockers have metallurgy problems. Solid rotors are inheritly stronger by their structure.

Casting the rotor with the hole is stronger than drilling the hole into the rotors, but a rotor with holes is still not as strong as a solid rotor. There are some pictures floating around on here of Porsche drilled rotors (supposedly cast with the holes) that are cracked.
