If you're using this oil, I highly recommend getting an oil analysis done to see how this oil is working for you. I personally think the LS1 works much better with either Amsoil 5w30, Redline 5w30, or German made Castrol 0w30. A turbocharged or supercharged LS1 would work well with Redline or Amsoil 10w40.
I think Royal Purple may be a new sponsor here soon. They are inquiring. Maybe we can run some tests or something, who knows.
How your oil analysis results turn out definitely depends a lot on climate and your driving style, which is why it's good to compare your results only under similar conditions in the same vehicle. This is also why it's good to do a few oil analysis results over multiple intervals.
All oils are not going to give you equal results though, although any oil can get you to 100k or even 150k when changed before it's useful life is up. Conventional oils can go beyond 3k under ideal conditions, however their performance in extreme cold and extreme heat is not as good as synthetics. If you drive your car hard and want maximum life out of your engine, synthetics are the way to go, mainly because they keep the engine much cleaner inside.
