Default Tremec T56 Vs T56

Does anyone know of any differences between a 1999 T56 Trans Am Transmission and a 2004 GTO Tremec T56. I just upgraded to a stage 2 Tremec T56 and thought since they were the same trans that it should bolt up like the original one. Also replaced the clutch with a Monster Stage 3 1200 ho 3 disk clutch. Car runs good but reverse doesn't seem to want to go in without putting the car in 5th 1st and 1st has slight issues sometimes. I bought the trans from a good friend with a fresh build and rode in the his car prior to pulling it out and putting it into mine.
Thanks for any input..

Sounds like a slave issue more then a trans issue.

Not really advanced engineering but I suppose I'll bite. Biggest question is did you replace the throwout bearing and did you check to see if the throwout bearing needed a shim when you did the clutch replacement. I can almost guarantee that's your issue.

Shift cup is different, and I thought output shaft used a different spline.

Some bellhousings/starters are different too slightly.
