The Answere
Hi ALL, I did work with GM Engineers WHEN THEY Needed the information about the best way to "decode" MY( 60-2 ) GM 58x TW.
Thus, I asked the SAME question, "How was the LS-3 cylinder head created? "
Their answer was the GM provided Rick Hendrick with LARGE amounts of "racing cash"
Again, the LS head is indeed a Cup Head.

The current cup head being used, the R07.2 uses LS7 intake port architecture. GM does indeed give Mr Hendrick and all other GM teams lots of racing cash, from a factory support standpoint. Rick Hendricks former chief engine builder Randy Dorton (rip) was on the board with GM engineers when the SB2 was developed in the 90’s.
