? For boost experts
Okay let me start off by saying I have an 07 impala SS with the the LS4.My current setup is a single s-300 Borg Warner turbo at 13 lbs. with meth injection. I have an LS1 3 inch MAF sensor and Factory LS4 throttle body. I just recently bought an overkill intake 90 MM throat with an LS6 90MM throttle body and 4 inch LS7 card style MAF sensor.my charge pipe coming off intercooler going to ls1 maf is 2.5 inches an it steps up to 3 inch with coupler.i know a retune is a must,im just wondering if it going from 2.5" charge pipe step upto 4" ls7 maf then 90mm tb etc. Will boost properly or will i lose pressure when it steps 2.5" to 4"? Sorry guys I just realized I should have posted this in the forced inductions forum

Charge Air Temperature
Hi J, what you state is VERY GOOD, to expand the area.
There will be a Charge Air temperature drop, another good reason to do what you state.
The best "step" is a 7*- 11* (funnel angle) cone, from the 2.5" to the 4"

Cool Air = Less Lag
Hi J, A sheet Metal Shop can do this for your needs, OR I could.
Sure when the MAT is reduced, you should see a SMALL pressure drop.
The engine LOVES COOL AIR, with the "lag" reduced.
THUS, Cool Air = Less Detonation with more HP/Torque.
